On Wedsneday, October 25th I arrived in Legaspi, which is located about an hour-flight out of Manila in the Philippines. I was traveling to this far away place to visit a newly built wakeboard park in the city of Naga. I was invited by the builder and owner of the park, LRay Villafuerte, who also happens to be the governor of the province of Camarines Sur. Nothing could have prepared me for some of the amazing sights and people that I was about to meet on this, yet another sick a#$ world adventure.
Governor LRay was kind enough to have us over to see this beautiful place with our own eyes. For 11 days we rode, partied, filmed and had the chance to meet and make friends with some of the kindest and most interesting people I have ever met. I was surprised to see how many riders were pushing it out there. We judged their first ever national contest, which went off! The Governor and his crew put together a sick event and even better parties. Even a crew of my homies from Korea and Singapore showed up to kick it with us!
On this trip I learned how to break dance from the crew of pros he brought in from Manila, as well as sharing a ton of laughs with some of Asia’s elite. All in all, I had a killer time and can’t wait to return! Governor LRay has a lot planned for the Philippines, so you can be sure that I will be making it that way soon. Keep an eye out for future trips and photos. Also check out www.camsurwatersportscomplex.com to peep photos and learn a little more about this wakeboarding mecca!
