How To Build A Wakeboard

Here I am within the comfortable confines of a coach airplane seat on my return flight from Lynwood, Washington. As I reflect on the activities of the past 24 hours, I can't help but feel like I was the biggest winner in our CWB U Built It Contest.

The CWB U Built It Contest gave a lucky WakeWorld reader and his friend the opportunity to win a trip for two to the CWB factory to hand-build a personalized wakeboard and walk away with a boatload of prizes from CWB Board Co., Oakley and MasterCraft.

The grand prize winner was Adam Keiper of Indiana, who brought along his very lucky buddy, Colin Stauffer. The pair showed up in Washington accompanied by CWB Team Manager and CWB_TV producer, Steve Bates. CWB's Jay Quam, the mastermind behind this great contest, also joined in the festivities.

We spent the better part of a day getting intimate with the CWB Board Co. factory and all that goes on under its roof. It was facinating to see the board build take place and even better to actually participate in the process. Adam, who was already riding a first-generation CWB Marius, was stoked to build his own second-generation Marius and ride it only a few hours after he finished it on beautiful Lake Washington. We even customized his Marius graphic by crossing out Trevor Hansen's name and adding Adam's!
