Ok guys, my friend and I have been wanting to build some rails for this summer. However, we are debating if it is worth the risk of losing your board. I hear about a lot of people breaking their board when they do rails, and even if you have a warranty, nobody will fix or replace your board if there is any evidence of you using a rail. Can any of you who have ridden rails answer me 2 things... 1)What is the chance of breaking your board? 2)Is it worth the chance?
Kristian, that's exactly what I did. Except I already had it and just retired it to slider status. 2001 Weddington pro 138, finless and beat to hell. I sure as hell wouldn't put my normal board through the beating, it only sucks when you want to do it all. I pretty much have to take slider set. It's nice to have binding for both though.
I have a TFD that I've been taking to OWC for like 6 months or so now (I go about once a week). My board is scratched up, but no chunks taken out. If you can get a cheapo junky board to hit the sliders I would recommend that, but it's definately worth it. Sliders are awesome.
