Did you ever figure it out? Cause I was wondering what is going on with this as well? Is everyone still meeting at Orwood at 9? Our crew still plans to be there. Maybe Rod can help us out.

I hope it doesn't rain.....

Shhhhhh...... Stefani you said it, now if it does, it is all your fault!!!

Expect 4-6 from our crew for the breakfast/riding/socializing (If we all get up on time) and are going to be in an 02 SAN.

Hey Rene,
I was just at Orwood today, I could'nt even see my boat from the cafe (fog). It started to clear at about 10:30AM. Not one wakeboarder on the water?
But I will be there at 9AM. I'll have my new prototype with me. Looking foreward to seeing the whole crew.
What up Jason, Long time...??
Can't wait to film you and Kevin and the rest of you. Might even bring the SLR.

Alan, where'd you ride all weekend. I was on the water both Sat and Sunday and we only saw one boat, but no one in the water. We had Victoria's to ourselves and Saturday we shared twins for a bit with two huge seals... one finally found it's way to Victoria's but we were on the way out! Gotta say perfect water this Christmas weekend...but it was freakin COLLLLLLD!!!

We still plan on riding New Year's Day. Right now we have 8 people in our group.

I just checked yahoo weather before coming to this site and the current forecast doesn't look that great.

Let's just hope for the best and see what the forecast is on Wednesday.

Does everyone who is planning on attending on New Year's Day have a ride lined up? If not, then speak up and let's see if anyone has any extra room.

We stopped off at Union Point and they will be open New Year's Day at 10 am, so we can do the lunch, coffee break with about 30 bikers!

Let's switch to New Years Eve Day

New Years Eve Day would be good, but I wouldn't make it due to work! What's a little rain matter, your getting wet any how!!!

I'll be there at 9am with my boat. Kevin Bird, Jason & Heather Callen, Rich & Chris Dykmans, Alan Bogdanoff, Mark Castenelli, and myself. I've also invited Arun and Anne-Michelle, but I haven't heard back from them yet. My five year old son James might come too if it's not raining.

Water was co-co-cold on sunday. Air temp was in the low forties. Hopefully it'll warm up sometime soon. With the rain comes the warmer weather/water......Forget that. What's the first day of summer.

I think the rain is on for the New Years day.
Are we still on? Rain or Shine?
I'll be at a party in Pleasanton on New Years eve. I'll crash there - so if the game is on - I'll be there 9AM.

I guess if all you guys are going to brave the cold weather then I'll tag along if there's room. My marina is closed on New Years so it'll be a big pain to get my boat out and back in...so if there's extra room on somebody's boat then I'd like to tag along. Now, this will be my first dry suit experience...so for us newbies...what are the items that make a winter day on the delta a good one?
Old    jetgofish            12-30-2003, 9:28 AM Reply
Levi I think we have exta room on our boat.

You should bring a second set of dry clothes and warm clothing. Under your dry what you wear depends on you. Sweats, light long sleeve T etc.

Old     (levi)      Join Date: Feb 2001       12-30-2003, 11:03 AM Reply
Thanks Teri. I'll plan on tagging along w/ your crew unless you guys fill up. Also let me know if you want me to meet you at Disco so I can help get the boat ready and help put it away after.

thx,

Levi

The rain will probably keep most of our wives at home, but as for the rest of our crew, we'll be there rain or shine.

Let's just hope for decent weather, or maybe not, depending on if some of us really want our wives to come along.

Old     (peter_c)      Join Date: Sep 2001       12-30-2003, 7:47 PM Reply
Teri, you are always sick! What is wrong with you? Eat your vitamins.

Stefani, your speakers are the same type of speakers used in a car. They are designed to mount inside the door. When it rains on the outside of your car door it runs down "into" the door and out the bottom. Point is yes they are designed to handle water.

Sounds like full rain gear is going to be in order.
Old    jetgofish            12-30-2003, 8:04 PM Reply
Peter, maybe I like to be sick (ya right) or maybe it's just because I wakeboard in the freezing cold and when it's raining and when the water is cold...Maybe it's because I've had pneumonia (sp) and my immune is down. I do take vitams...geesh...I got the flu shot this year too...What the heck...

Any how I agree with you on the rain gear and I will be dawning mine!

See ya out there!

Jetgofish,
I wasn't riding this weekend. I was test driving my boat to a guy that was interested in buying it. We were just out for a couple of hours.
Sold the boat!! (2000 Supreme).

O.K. - So it's rain or shine - Jan 1, 04 @ 9AM.
Just making sure. Don't foreget the gloves for those frozen fingers.

Well folks, at this point we are going to play tomorrow by ear. If the wind picks up AND it rains, the water will not be rideable. They're calling for 30 mph gusts, which if any of you in the area remember what it was like Monday out here, then you know how bad it was. So, we are going to pack the boat up along with our rain gear, and hope for the best. If it's a blow out, maybe we can all meet for breakfast anyway....

They are saying Friday will be partly cloudy.... Friday might be a better day...
Old     (dococ)      Join Date: Mar 2002       12-31-2003, 9:22 AM Reply
I'm thinking the same as Stefani...
Meet for breakfast at Orwood and make a decision from there. I want to see everybody to start off the new year, but I'm not much interested in riding if the wind is more than 10-15mph.
I guess I must now forfeit my "diehard" status!!
Old    jetgofish            12-31-2003, 9:24 AM Reply
About a month ago Sean and I really, really wanted to ride but there were 35 mph winds, we headed to Victorias and found perfect water, guess it depends on the wind direction...see ya all for breakfast
Old     (cfisher)      Join Date: Apr 2002       12-31-2003, 9:46 AM Reply
I'm with both Stefani and Doctor Octagon....

Rain is not so bad by itself. However, rain combined with major winds gusts (up to 35 mph according to accuweather) and flash flood warnings and that is where I start to hesitate.

I might have to forfeit my "diehard" status as well. If I still have a crew, I won't cancel on them. However, it is starting to look like we might just have breakfast at Orwood to ring in the New Year!
Old     (thor)      Join Date: Oct 2001       12-31-2003, 10:09 AM Reply
The forecast calls for winds out of the south. Victoria runs east/west, so it might not be that bad.

I'm forever the optimist when it comes to riding, but I guess I'll have to check with Mark and see what he wants to do since I am riding on his boat tomorrow.

As for going to Orwood for breakfast only, I'm not to sure about that since I have to drive from San Jose.

Now if anyone wants to go for a boat ride to Union Point for lunch and cocktails that might entice me to drive to the delta. Who knows maybe after a few cocktails the wind wouldn't matter anyway.

Dave,

Fortunately, I was able to ride at Calero this past Satuday with Trace, Mac, and Shawn, or I would really be going crazy with the thought of the weather system coming in.

I'll give Mark a call in a few and we can make a final decision at that time.

As for this weekend, I'm heading to Granite Bay for a holiday party on Saturday night, but I might be able to swing by the delta on my way home on Sunday. If you want, try to talk Mark into riding on Sunday around noon.

It wouldn't be a problem riding in the rain, however towing the boat in the rain is a problem. I am just getting off work now and it doesn't look like we will be making it up for this trip unless something miraculous happens in the next two hours while I am trying to get what little sleep I get. Or Paul (Gherk) and the rest or our crew surprises the hell out of me and picks me up anyways.

To all who make it:

Have a great time and happy new year to all! Maybe we can plan a Saturday trip.
