OK, reposting because I can't add a reply to the archive thread... (has this always been the case?)

J-Rod asked "Yo, anybody know why the videos I watch freeze up in Windows Media Player? The vid starts, freezes on the first frame, but I can still hear the audio. It's driving me nuts!! "

You are trying to watch a video that has been compressed with a newer version CODEC than what the viewer is capable of playing. (example: The video was compressed with Microsoft's new v9 codec and you're using media player 6). The audio can still be heard is because backwards compatible.

SOLUTION: Unless you are using Window NT, you should upgrade to Microsoft's Media Player 9 http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/default.asp

Let me know if that solves your problem?
