What do you guys like for a decent pair of sunglasses? Keeping in mind they may end up overboard, sat on/broken, or lost during the boating season so "reasonably priced" ($50-100+??) would be preferred...

I like MY SPY Cooper XL as they have affordable polarized lenses that replacements can be found for on Amazon

Dragon Optics have their H2O series that float. Dragon has nice product. You will not find them in that price range however.

I tend to stick to Costa, Smith or Dragon. I have several pair of glasses and have never lost any pair that cost me over $100. When I get ready to ride, I wrap them in their microfiber cloth, put them in their case and throw them in the glove box, or at least wrap them in a TShirt.

Yes, I realize this doesn't answer your question, but I was not sure how many people are aware of Dragon's H2O series

Funny you posted this as I'm in the midst of looking for a new pair as well. My last pair was the Fox "the meetings" and I loved them. I believe they only make the chrome version now though.

looked at both the Dragon "the jam" and Spy "rocky" last night searching. Always hard looking at sunglasses without trying them on though.

Chattwake: Besides cost is there another reason you like the Superdry or is it a just styles and cost thing for you?

I just got a couple pairs of Shady Rays. They are polarized lenses but cheap at $40 per pair. They have a BOGO offer right now. Their motto is "live hard, we got you". Lost or broken free replacements. Only fine print I could find says up to 2 replacements per pair and you have to pay $7 shipping and handling. Seems like a great deal. I love the glasses so far. I've had Maui Jims, ray ban, etc. I'm always nervous about losing them, breaking them, or having them stolen. Love my shady rays because I just don't have to worry about them.

Superdry makes good boat sunglasses. I still buy Maui Jim, Rayban and Oakley if I want higher quality lenses. However, for $30-40, there's not much out there that looks good and doesn't fall apart instantly. I've had a few pair of Superdry's, liked them, and didn't cry when they got smashed or splashed.

I only buy Otis now. They are real glass so they don't scratch. After a year of hitting the ground, living in the cup holder, contacting keys and other abrasive objects, the lenses are still fresh. Worth every penny.

Check out Suncloud sunglasses. I am on my second pair of their Sentry model and I love them. For $50 with polarized lenses its not bad at all. I found mine on amazon but here is their link.

Support companies that are supporting the wake industry. Hoven and Heatwave support wake and make decent priced sunglasses.

I like that message.

I found the Heatwave lens to bother my eyes a bit. Something about them makes them uncomfortable to look through. I have the big blade looking pair. Maybe it's just the model, or maybe I just got a bad pair.

I like Tifosi- they have a bunch of different shapes, lens colors. They have the hydro- and oleo- phobic nose and ear pieces so they don't slip when your skin is wet or has sunscreen on it. I have one pair that I use just for running- they don't slip at all and I sweat like a pig when I run in this south florida heat. Most pairs are $80 and under. I've also had $200 pair of Costas and these perform every bit as well.

I went with the Heatwave Visuals and ordered two pairs at this time. Will report back once I got them and how they perform.

I'm now on my 3rd pair and they are cheap enough if I lose them I'm ok. They really are great quality and great customer service, quick shipping.

Almost anything polarized. I prefer the brown tint as the contrast with blues and greens is enhanced.

Liquid Eyewear. They are made right here in the USA. Polarized lenses, impact resistant ,great for shooting and riding a motorcycle. They are one piece aluminum frames that you can adjust to fit your face comfortable all day. Aluminum Eyewear is the cheapest place to get them. I wakeboard and play water volleyball with mine and they stick like glue.

First off, let me say that I love quality sunglasses, I prefer Maui Jim but have a few pair of Ray-Ban too. As for boating, I wear contacts and found that it is easier on my eyes if I wear glasses behind the boat. I tried this with a pair of cheap safety glasses from Lowe's and they were great but only lasted until my first fall. Problem is they are too expensive to loose on a regular basis so I ordered a dozen tinted safety glasses from eBay for $1.09 each for use while riding, but still use my good glasses in the boat. It only took a few trips like this until I just started using the safely glasses as my regular sunglasses, less hassle and I don't have to worry about someone sitting on them, etc. If I am spending the day primarily as a driver, I will still take my good glasses but the norm is to leave them in the truck.
