Wow! What a beast!

I'm assuming that by creating a cush ride with the coil overs, that created the sag problem. Or would the truck sag that much with leaf springs also because of the lift / height?

Any idea on the torque specs you're getting from the blown big block?

i have a new denali 2500hd thats lifted. has aftermarket springs and it still sags the truck. My x80 has some serious tongue weight. if i was going to guess the motor is putting around 600ish torque

That looks like a ton of tongue weight.

Not an old school square body, but I'm pretty pumped with my new setup. Over the winter I upgraded to a Ram 2500 Megacab Cummins which shortly after got a race tune, delete, and exhaust. And two weeks ago we sold our 2015 A22 and got this 2016 red one. They happened to have one last red A22 in stock. Pretty happy with it.

I don't get it, That doesn't seem at all practical for towing. How much lift? What is the truck used for aside from towing? Forced induction also seems undesirable for a tow pig, on account of piss gas and detonation.

your 100% right, tow pigs on 40s are not the most practical. i rarely drive either truck unless I'm headed to the lake, which is around 12 miles one way from the house. the denali is around 6 months old and i almost have 1500 miles on it. these trucks are everything but a daily driver, not saying you couldn't, i personally would get tired of climbing in and out of them. all for fun…… i to agree forced induction on a tow rig not the best thing. the truck has a 177 blower very small maybe around 4-6lbs of boost, thats equipped with a chiller to help keep my IAT down to help with any detonation problems.

I had to put mud flaps on back of my lifted truck (made them so I can install and then remove them in about 2mins) cause tires like to kick rocks and other crap up into the boat when towing, which will ding the gelcoat...that's the biggest downside IMO. But, I am at least half red-neck, so I found a way to get-r-done.

Please use mud flaps

I don't know yet. It was done in a way that the OEM exhaust can be bolted back on, however I hope to have a second residence soon to avoid smog checks.

The difference is massive. Torque increased by roughly 100% and the horsepower bump was about a 150 gain. It's said to produce 1300 foot pounds and 500+ horsepower. I'll never find out, but the builder said the truck should run mid-high 12s.

If you have a newer truck it may be risky. (I have a 2011) I've heard the truck stores evidence of a tune even after the removal, so that under a warrant issue, they have grounds to deny the claim. If you have a friend at a dealer you may be okay.

1300 ft/lbs out of 454 cubic inches and only pushing 4-6 psi? Someone is pulling your leg very hard. 500+ HP is in the ballpark depending on build. I'm not a GM guy so don't know the particulars on what it takes to get 500/1300 out of a 454, and I've only experience with forced induction on diesels... But something smells fishy about those numbers. 1300 ft/lbs take a lot of displacement or a lot of boost, that little 177 isn't likely to get you anywhere near that. What are the relevant details of this build? Block, pistons, cam, heads, etc. I can put it through Desktop Dyno and get a ballpark idea.

For reference a 460 I built for my tow pig is around 400 HP and 550+ ft/lbs from off idle on up through the most used RPM range. It was more like 450 HP with another cam that turned out to be a hoot but not practical for towing so I switched to a cam that maximized torque at all RPM. If I only change it in DD to have a 177 blower with a 2.0 belt ratio and limit at 6 PSI peak HP/Torque go from 393/569 to 495/672. That around 100 HP and 100 ft/lbs gain and in the ballpark of what I'd expect from a small blower. That's with a mild cam (262/270) on a wide LSA (111) so should be reasonably efficient, but it is not a grind with forced induction in mind so there is surely a bit more power to be had. Also it's on a 9.8:1 engine that is on the ragged edge of detonation on pump gas anyhow. Not ideal but should be a reasonable ballpark comparison of a similar displacement performance build.

Sorry J-rod but I don't think any stock fuel and air diesel is going to run mid 12's with just a tune and exhaust. A powerstroke 6.4 might as long as it doesn't have big tires.

There just to heavy even with all the torque.

Cory D 1300 ft/lbs is them talking about the RED cummins.

No need to apologize. That was a guess by the guy that built it, not my claim. He races Diesel trucks. I have beat up on some pretty fast cars though.

Do you mean a 6.7 Ford? The new 6.7 produces 925 foot pounds stock.

lol I never said that. I said it's probably around 600hp 600 ish torque.

I love it. Practical was nowhere on the requirements list when this thing was thought of. But monsterous beast certainly was..

Nope I was talking about the older 6.4's. The factory lift pump and twin turbos mean with just a tune they can run 350 rwhp over stock. But they do like to melt pistons at that level if you beat on it to much. There are lots of threads of them going 12.8-12.9 on tune intake and exhaust only.

By the way I love your Cummins, I've been think of getting one myself.
