I have a cheaper equilizer that does not have a USB port on the back. Just audio inputs. I am wanting to get a usb hooked up so I can use a bluetooth dongle. Is this what I need?

those are just extension cables to relocate an existing usb to a new spot, not add one that isn't existing.. your best bet is to get a bluetooth adapter that goes to rca cables instead and keep your eq. wetsounds makes a nice one and there are other inexpensive options out there as well. if you want to change the eq wetsounds just released one today with built in bluetooth so you will have three choices on how to get a music signal.

If you want bluetooth, just get the Wetsounds bluetooth adapter. It plugs in via AUX (which can be split into RCA easily with an adapter cable).

Thanks for all the help guys. I think I'll hold off on he bluetooth until i can upgrade to the new 420. I'm a complete rookie with audio equipment and didn't realize you could get a bluetooth adapter that plugs directly into the audio inputs. I'll also look into that

Another option is to go wifi instead of Bluetooth, a few options out there, 25-75$.

Here's a couple:

- I bought one of these to try out a month ago. Seems to work just fine in my limited testing of it (2-3 hours in the garage).

And an Apple TV, just using air play for audio. I also saw this for $75 somewhere last week.

ok, i am stupid. can people please explain how this would work??....i am very interested in avoiding blue tooth. first of all i have android. so looks like the 2nd one listed above would be the ticket. so obviously i would send signal to this device and plug that device into the stereo. but how? the device receives wifi. but how would it work when not on my home network? does your phone have to be able to be a wifi hotspot? is that the ticket? if not then it won't work???
