im really interested in picking up a quadcopter to do some messing around with. i will be using my go pro with it. was just curious if the phantom 2 is really worth the extra money over the phantom 1? noone around my area deals with them so i have noone to really ask personally. youtube is hit and miss on reviews. seems 50/50 on which one everyone recommends over the other.

Ok, I'm defiantly not an expert, but DJI just came out with their new quad copter the Phantom 2 vision that has amazing image stabilization. Between the phantom 1 and 2, I personally don't think there is too much of a difference. If I had the money I would go for the newest one, because of the stabilization. If you are planning to photograph wakeboarders, you have to fly at 20 mph, and that's going to make the video really wobbly. It's you're call. Tell me which one you get! I'm really interested. I loveee aerial photography. Post every picture and video please!

The battery on the phantom 2 flys for 25 mins.( huge plus compared to 10 mins!!!) Mine flys for about 17 to 20 because I use the zenmuse gimbal with a fpv downlink and gopro 3. The vision is an awesome out of the box aerial copter. You can use your phone to see what the camera does. IMO go for the phantom 2! I love mine

Check out micbergsma's youtube channel, he has a video dedicated to the differences. Based off it and others I've seen, the 2 is the way to go. They fixed all the annoyances of the 1.

The owner of ProMarine Wake in Durham, NC got one of these things. It's pretty sick and he's already put a few videos up on Vimeo.

This one was taken at Hexagon Wake Park
