Anyone ever ride behind a tige 20i? Looking at a 2006, test drove a moomba which sucked. Test drove the 20i and seemed to like it for a first boat. Any tips would be much appreciated!

What do you want to use the boat for, core wakeboarding or multi sport?

20i is a good first boat, i have a 2004 and have riden behind a heap of new boats even the new tiges, mal vlx and G23- best boat hands down. it is not a good wake to ski behind naut's are better.
with 500kgs of sacs(most in the lockers) it is a good wake boarding wake, and has a good surf wave as good as most small v-drives - 08 vtx,new naut sport.
my tige is an australian 20i not as well finished as my mates naut sport of the same age.

I'm with Darren.

Not bashing Tige but back when I bought my first boat it seemed many (tige's) were specked with carburetor motors...which I would never buy. Seemed odd that boats even as new as 2004 didn't have fuel injection.

Super Sport Nautique 1995-2000 / Super Air
205v / X-star
Malibu Sunsetter / Wakesetter VLX
... get a v-drive, if you don't, whatever direct drive you buy will be for sale in a year or two so you can buy a v-drive.

I sold our 1995 Super sport to my brother, who is trying to sell it now.

1995 Supersport w/ ~650 hrs, engine is GT-40 and was replaced at 200 hours (previous owners cracked the block, put a new engine in it - He gave us receipts from when we bought it)... My brother / I have put on 400 hours since then with no issue
FCTower with board racks, 6 speakers, mirror
Ballast system (semi auto) with 900 lbs rear, 800 mid, 800 front when fully filled.
dual axle trailer with brakes
new interior in 2012
Acme 856 prop

.... I think he was asking $17,500 and the boat is located in central Wisconsin.
if you're interested, email me here -

I had a 2000 Tige 20i for my first boat, and I really. Mine was fuel injected, for what it's worth. I sold mine with a tower and perfect pass for $13,300 a couple of years ago.

Had an 06 20i myself. Even with the 315hp carb marine power it still had plenty of pull. Deep freeboard and wide beam made it extra roomy for a DD. You can put a lot of weight in it and the wake is nice.

Prefer V-drives but you can get a newer DD for the cost of an older V. I've been on lots of boats and the Tige was one of my favorites. It was solid and rode well in the chop too. The only I didn't like was where they mounted the cooler. It made it readily hard to squeeze my fat butt into the storage area when I did my stereo upgrade. That was my only complaint

They would have been specifically ordered by a dealer or customer with that engine, as EFI engines were offered as far back as the late 90's.
