Best way from the bay?

Headin to Don Pedro for some camping in a couple weeks and coming from the north bay just seein if anyone knows the best route? 120 thru Manteca or keep heading down 99 and take 132...
if we take 120 which looks faster I'll have to go south on co rd J59 which looks sketchy (towing 2 boats) sorry lot of info, suggestions anyone?

dont know exactly the hwy #'s but i take 580 - pass livermore, pass tracy - then turns into Hwy 5 for a minute(around Manteca) then exit off 5 into another freeway for a short distance(maybe 5mins) then exit and take some farm type road that cuts through Escalon then into Oakdale(hang a left) and take that highway/road all the way till I hit don pedro(after passing Tulloch).

Jason, J59 isnt bad at all and is the direction both of the guys above are advising.

where are you gonna camp? it makes a difference which way you go.

thx for the responses, camping at Fleming meadows. looks like 120 to J59 is the best bet....

We've got a houseboat out of Fleming and we take a different route from the East Bay. Its a little more difficult to follow, but after going to Pedro for years, I'm convinced it's the best route.

580 East (follow 580 as 205 splits off through Tracy)
132 East (continue on this through Modesto)
Left on La Grange Rd. (J59)
Right on Bonds Flat
Left into Fleming Meadows

I agree with Nick. Been doing two trips a year to Don Pedro and from Gilroy area I would take 152 to 59 then straight up, but from Discovery Bay found that 132 to LaGrange was the best bet. 120 may be more of a straight shot but has a lot more stop and go spots.
