As a result of my femur break six years ago wakeboarding, I'm having to have a hip replacement (which is likely to include bone grafting due to avascular necrosis). I'm just curious, has anyone experienced bone grafts being applied to weight bearing joints? It's not so much the process that I'm concerned with.... and no doubt the recovery will be longer... but I'm concerned with the discomfort of the actual donor site (fibula or illiac crest). Any input or relative situations would be greatly appreciated!
