Have a 08 Malibu VTX and looking for ideas on good spot for the WS420 EQ mounting. Does anyone have pics of where you have mounted the EQ in your Malibu boats or others? Thinking the left side of driver cockpit under dash (see pic) Was thinking of semi-vertical on left side on carpet wall under dash to floor but worried about drivers bumping it getting in and out of seat. If I mount horizontal under dash have issue with steering assy in the way under dash and glass to mount it to under there is not super substantial. Any ideas and pics would be appreciated. I can fab stuff pretty decent so any custom bezels or mounts pics appreciated. (Right side of steering wheel has stereo control under there so not a good option there) Thanks, Brian

Here is a picture of the one we mounted in our Axis. Made a mounting bracket out of HDPE plastic. Worked pretty well.

I made a bracket out of a piece of abs plastic. The plastic was heated and bent into an L shape (actually the angle is a bit more acute than 90*). Then you can screw the short end of the L into the back of the dash where there is some glass to bite into and you don't have unsightly visible holes if you decide to take the EQ out later.

Check out these previous posts...not all for Malibu's but will give you some good ideas. I'm about a month out from installing mine so I'm trying to get a few ideas as well.

There's always the LED plexi mount on Ebay too

Anyone had issues with these getting bumped on the left side of dash cockpit? Also, what about water damage? I know they are water resistant but... we don't always run for cover in the rain and have had some long runs in bad weather, any moisture/water issues in the units? Was thinking back up under dash some might be best or custom box with a splash guard face plate assy?

Main issue we had was someone accidentally bumping the source toggle. So instead of being sorced to the HU it wa sourced to the aux in.

Decided to go this route for now. Made a drip bead under dash edge so rain will not drip onto front ect... Made a shield for the top of it. May end up making something in carbon fiber or a fiberglass pod with a face shield as a drop down off dash slope but this will do for now.
