Hey guys I have a 94 Camry wagon with the 4cyl engine. I use this as a daily beater. I was driving to the airport today to go to work and at 75 MPH the car just quit. No shutter or odd sounds just quit. I haven't had any trouble with the car since I have had it. 120 k miles on it.timing belt was done at 100. I do know that it is probably due for a tune up as well. I have not been able to find much in online forums like I can my VW. I guess the Camry wagon doesn't have a huge following. I have found that on normal sedans the fuel pump is accessible under the back seat. Any idea if it is in that same location on the wagon. I won't have time to mess with it till the weekend so I was trying to gather some info in the mean time. Thanks for any and all help.

yea it should be located under the back seat. i would do a little more checking before you just stick a fuel pump in it. i would pull one of the spark plug wires off at the spark plug, stick a old plug of any kind, lawnmower, anything down in the boot, make sure the threads of the plug is grounded, like on the valve cover or something and have someone crank the car and see if its getting spark, if it is then i would lean towards fuel, if its not then pull the wire off the coil and make sure its firing out of the coil. if it is then i would lean towards a bad cap or rotor. if its not then i would go towards a coil or module inside the distib. cap or a bad distrib. or you can just skip all that and have someone crack the throttle and you can squirt a little b12 down the intake and see if it runs. if it does than i would say you need a fuel pump, if not than try the steps above. those motors are pretty bullet proof, ive replaced alot of distrib. a few fuel pumps. a ton of timing belts, waterpumps and tensioners. it will be a simple fix

Thanks Robby. I was planning on doing just what u described before I drop in a pump. I will mess with it this weekend when I get home. Either way I should be able to get it done. I will probably do the full tune up with rotor, cap wires and plugs just because it has 120k on what I believe to be original equipment. Just weird that it ran fine with no misses or anything and it just quit.

I'd replace the fuel filter before replacing the pump.
