Just pulled the trigger on a PC 7424xp with backing plate and 6 lake country pads (orange, white and red) from autogeek.

Anyone have a tips or recommendations on using this thing.

I am pretty handy with my Dewalt rotary but wanted something a little easier/lighter and more geared toward light cleaning, polishing and waxing. My gut feeling is that if I can run the Dewalt effectively - then I should not have much trouble with the PC unit

If you can run a rotary without dammage, you would have to work at it to do dammage with the 7424.

good backing plate and pads are the most important part for good results. sounds like you have that part covered so you should be good to go.

Light pressure is the key to a good finish and long pad life.
