I am looking for a new board. I have a 2008 Supra Sunsport and the surf wake is not that great. So I am looking for a board that would be good to use behind it. I am about 6 ft 175lbs. Would like to be able to let everyone use it also. I am new to surfing so not sure what I am looking for. I have a tsunami right now and it does ok but it is hard to ride without the rope. I guess I need something with more buoyoncy. TIA

First lets start with your boat. How much weight are you running? I know that boat has the ability to throw a good wave with some real weight in it.

Heath you will need much more weight than factory plus 400 pounds. I have never surfed a Supra but know the hull is capable. I would suggest posting a message on the Supra Boat forum and asking what people run in their Supra's

As for a board if your wave is smaller and as you said not that great then a longer board would make more sense.

But add more weight fa sho. We run 3K.

which boards do you recommend?

Well that is a loaded question around here. Do you ocean surf? Do you prefer the feel of skateboarding moves? IE spins, shuv its etc...? There are a lot of brands but only a handful are worth anything. I bet you could fit 1100 pound in the back corner and get that wave going!

For your purpose I would recommend the Inland Surfer Squirt. Not too expensive and works for most people

I have never oceaned surfed before. I just started wake surfing last year. I want a board I can progress with but that will work well with a smaller wake. I am a biginner and really have not got in to tricks all that much. I have only pulled off 1 360 so far. But I would rather have something right now that I can just ride without having to hold a rope all the time.

Look into getting an extra sac to put in your back locker. It will make such a huge difference. How much do you weigh? Weight plays a big part in most of these boards.

Chase Hazen

James Walker

Which one is the one you like or compare your style to?

I am about 6 ft 175lbs. What about the Inland Surfer Blue Lake Wakesurf Board ?

At 175 there are lots of options. Inland surfer makes lots great boards, check out walker project, shred stixx, lake wakes, etc.... everyone can add the ones I forgot. Anyway to demo? Where are you located?

I am in Alabama, so not really any places to demo a board. I have used the inland blue before but not behind my boat. My question is will it work as well on a smaller wake?

Yeah it should work with a small wake.

Heath: We are on Oconee in Georgia. If you make it over this way in the spring, we have about 65 boards in our crew you can demo. (Blue Lake, Daniello, Sweet Spot, Liquid Force, and a couple of CWB's)

65 boards! Now that is a demo!

well I am not sure if or when I could get over there. I do appreciate the offer. But my question is still, since I am going to buy a bigger board and spend arond 600.00 for it, would the inland blue be the best for that kind of money or should I look at something else?
Old    Heath Patton (sidetracked3)      Join Date: Jun 2009       02-11-2011, 10:29 AM Reply
Or would the Ronix Koal 5' 6" be a better buy?
Old    Duffy Mahoney (duffymahoney)      Join Date: Sep 2008       02-11-2011, 10:51 AM Reply
Well in my opinion the blue is a better board then the koal. There are a few out there that are good with smaller waves. The board just needs more surface area and float. There are so many boards out there. But honestly the wakeboard brand boards that make surf boards suck. They are heavy, fins suck etc..
