Does anyone know who might work at Medical Express, psi in Texas? The FlyBoy blog gets cowardly annoymous emails frequently from that IPS address. Anybody in the Shred Stixx camp know who might work there?

And to the poster, the wordpress software forwards the IP address and it's a quick and easy task to do a whois search. Rather than hide behind fake email addresses, just strap a set on and be direct. So the post on the blog came from a computer on this network:

The previous comments were CS, and not reproducable here. If it's so innocuous though, Duramat, why not just say it direct? I think the graphics are ugly, signed Joe Smith. Gee thanks for your opinion, Mr. Smith. What I hate is all the freaking comments I have to moderate! Serious PITA.

Are we trying to sell your board, or are we complaining and on a witchhunt to find someone who doesn't like the board? Seriously, what are you going to gain? It doesn't make a difference if he uses his real name or not or where he posted from. Bottom line, somebody will always be upset with your product, get over it and move on. You can't promote and to expect to sell your boards with public stunts like this. Be the bigger guy and move on and don't waste your time. If you have to keep moderating so be it, your in the spotlight now. You can either show some class.......or not. I would like to see personal professionalism from a professional Boardmaker.

I have no idea who your problem child is, I don't even know who it is! LMAO

Let's try this:

Dear Surfdad's Nasty Internet posting gremlin could you let him know what color would look better? And do so in a nice way? Thanx, Matt

I even used my name for ya Surfdad

Actually you'll want to let Inland know, that's their color scheme, I have no real say in it. No, truly Matt, next time you're talking with Mr. Smith, just no cursing in the comments, please.

Jeff,

I have read your posts for years, fascinatingly watched as you embarked on yet another board build and think you have been a great advocate for the sport. But.......I kind of have to agree with Matt. Just delete the posts and move one.

Hmm.. if everyone who had an agenda here on WW was deleted though there would not be a site.

Sorry you are getting some hate talk, I have not seen nor ridden one of the FB boards so I have no opinion other than pictures. And then I am much more about performance than looks, so I am a poor person to ask.

Dave

Dear Surfdads nasty foul mouthed Internet poster AKA "Mr Smith": you can let Inland Surfer know what color you'd prefer to see on Surfdads board. And next time, could you just refrain from the foul language? Other words would be more suitable like "fetch" and "fudge" and "scrud" please be nice in his sandbox.

I hope that works, if you do find out who my friend is would you let me know how I know them? I don't live anywhere near there.

My graphics absolutely SUCK - if you've followed any of my builds you know it yourself! In fact I've proclaimed it right here! We get kids that follow along and ask for stickers or James signature. They idolize James, so I go through and delete the Russian Porn Site spam, and the stuff that would cause a mom to faint. I'm sure that some folks don't care about that, but I do and James does. It's a PITA enough with the spammers, and there's no reason to subject kids to that sort of thing nor just being mean-spirited.

Just skip the profanity. And Matt, just in case you are talking with anyone that MIGHT be doing it (wink wink), just ask them to skip the profanity.

I am not the poster, but I do think it is a little silly to try and air out your business here.

I too kept asking about the color changes, because frankly, I was not a fan of the old graphic nor the new graphic. When IS took over I asked you if there were some kind of graphic change or colors involved. And since I have seen the new design, I do not think it is any better. Just my opinion and it is not worth much, but I will tell you on here and state my name, David, that they are not appealing. Again, just my opinion. Not trying to point out your board, but there are others, ie WO Ruthless, IS Sweetspot and Slingshot Arcane that are not appealing either.

Good luck on finding your poster though!

A couple of reasons. First, the person that's been posting doesn't have the courage to use actual contact info, if they had, I would have gladly called them and said - What are you doing? Their cowardice prevented that. Second, I knew it would get back to the person almost immediately, as evidenced by the most recent comment, below - you can figure out what goes in the M and F parts of the comment, there's another but who cares, the point is made. Lastly, it's a person in the industry that's posting and I do want it clearly known what type of folks they are. Eventually someone will connect the dots and I'll be able to contact the person directly.

Jeff Walker those are really M***** F****** ugly colors!

See, that's going to freak some kid out. Mommy, what does M***** F****** mean? Why would anyone support that sort of behavior? I'm not all that good at reading all the details of the comments and I'd rather NOT be terrorized into deleting them all, but no doubt that's the intent of this person. Your boards don't measure up, so you attack the blog - just build a better board guys, really, give me a call I'll tell you how to make them work.

How do you know that the person who posted the latest love note wasn't simply messing with an easily confused surfdaddy?

For someone who professes to be so offended by libel, it's pretty hypocritical for you to post something so libelous.

This person that you've allegedly identified via IP (which is crazy in and of itself) is posting from both TX and NJ?

Easily confused is an understatement!!

@Jeff - Again, not saying what I said to be mean, just want the option of a custom color scheme, even if it may cost me extra. I like the lightning bolt action, but not so many. Maybe just one on the bottom and have a clean top. Clean and simple is good.

@Lakesurfer - That is the part that I was referring to. Take that off and it would be a good looking board.

It would be nice if all the board companies offered some kind of custom art work or where you can send in your own design. I know a few that do do it, and I do not mind paying extra for it. I like having something that is unique to me and not a direct copy of everyone else.

@ David - yeah a second run of a different color or something would be a great option. Custom would be even better, I agree. I know that Inland has a great business model, they are successful with that one color per board deal and have been doing it for years. I'm guessing it fits within that biz model somehow. One option is custom auto paint - not cheap or easy, but I just saw a killer paint job that Scott Culp had done - he had a local paint shop do those "real flames" effect on his board. I'll try and post up a picture, I'm trying to post a link to it, so it might not work.

@ brewkettle, thanks - we've made contact and that's done.

The picture doesn't do it justice. If you've seen that effect on custom cars you can appreciate it better than this picture. I have a few auto body clients that say the large flat surfaces are easy enough to paint and they can mix up the paint to stick on epoxy or polyester.

Your site has a big target on its back for spammers. Make people register to make comments, make your comment links no-follow or just turn the comments off. Its a pain in the arse, but if you want comments 'on' you have to moderate regularly.
Old    Jeff Walker (surfdad)      Join Date: Sep 2004       09-14-2010, 1:15 PM Reply
Yeah, neither James nor I are that literate in it I appreciate the advice, but it went right over my head! How does one go about setting comments as "no-follow". I'd need step-by-step-by-step nstructions to even think about managing that! I hate to turn the comments off, just yesterday Tim Lopes posted, the granddaddy of surf contests and certainly one of the pioneers of the sport. Not that he'd post significant content, but holy crap if you're a disciple of the sport and get a chance to see that he's posted! So cool. Robert gave me some guidance on blocking an IPS address and one day I'll probably understand how to do it

I'm being rude here! For those that don't know who Tim Lopes is, he was involved in the very VERY first World Wakesurfing Championships down in San Diego on Mission Bay. They used that Centurion Wave to pull the contest. I believe he won a men's division back in the day and I remember that Rusty Surfboards was a sponsor. I believe that contest is generally credited as the first ever wakesurf contest. The second WWSC took place June 12-14, 2003 in Merced on Lake Yosemite, after a long hiatus. At that time Tim was working for Fineline Industries West, the manufacturer of Centurion Boats, amongst others. That contest had tons of celebrity riders, Bill "Beaker" Bryant was featured in posters for the event. That single contest is the catalyst for virtually every subsequent wakesurf contest. The sacked out a few avy's - crazy tall wakes. Tim's efforts brought sposnorship from Waterski Magazine, Wakeboarding Magazine, Phase 5, Indo Boards, Inland Surfer, the then Wakesurfer Magazine spin off from Level X, Centurion Boats and Victoria skimboards, amongst others. Those organizers were staging events before a lot of us even KNEW what wakesurfing was.

Thank you Blair - I'll try and set aside 4 1/2 weeks to digest that all But one area I think helped is that the "nofollow" attribute for comments is already set, if I interpret this note correctly: "Under WordPress v1.5, the nofollow attribute is automatically added to all links in the comments section." I just checked with James and neither of us changed anything, so I don't need to worry about that attribute as you mentioned in the previous post, I do believe.

Dear Jeff Walker aka surfdad:

As you can see by my registration date and name, this is Clint Smith. Currently, I work for TexasOrthoSource which is a division of Medical Express, PSI, based in Austin, TX. I have worked here for over 4 years as a regional sales manager covering the majority of Texas. We have 13 offices in Texas and 200 statewide employees, many of whom are avid wakesurfers. Upon opening my email inbox this morning to a host of forwards to this thread, I thought long and hard about how to reply, if reply at all. I sent out an email to a handful of our employees in an effort to find the person who is not too stoked on the look of your new board. Turns out, it was one of our interns from a small school in Arizona that is working on an inventory management project at one of our warehouses here in Austin. The good news is, Josh, the opinionated intern is actually a big fan of James and the Flyboy Board, he actually owns one and claims that it rides unlike any other skim board on the market. The bad news is, he is not overly stoked on the new graphics.

Interns and bad graphics aside, I think it is time that you and your self promoting ways are exposed with a little dose of your own discussion board dialect.

I got into wakesurfing about 4 years ago and started working with Jerry Price and Rusty Kotzur at Shred Stixx around 3 years ago. About the same time I found Wake World for the first time and was stoked to find a sight that was dedicated to relevant wakesurfing news and gave us all the opportunity to interact with other people that are into wakesurfing in the same way. It did not take long for me to realize that what I thought was was legitimate industry site, was actually a breeding ground for self promotion, brand bashing, and trash talking. I also discovered there were a small handful of users that were the instigators of all that was bad on this discussion board and ruined the experience for those of us looking to discuss and connect within the new sport of wakesurfing. Because of this, myself and everyone affiliated with Shred Stixx chose to avoid subjecting ourselves to your daily drama and backhanded ways of self promotion on Wake World.

I have a lot of respect for James and his efforts to start his own company, he is one of the top riders in the sport and I don't think we would be where we are today without guys like James pushing the progression of the sport. I also think that its great that you guys are now working with Inland Surfer, they have been a huge part of establishing our sport and its great to see some of the non wakeboard companies having this kind of success in our industry.

On the other hand, and as I mentioned in my email response to your accusations, I believe you are what the surfing world refers to as a "kook".

Kook: (also "Kuk") A surfing beginner; someone who gets in the way or into trouble because of ignorance or inexperience (also see "Dork," "Geek").

My guess is that you that you have lived a fairly uneventful life pushing pencils from one tax season to the next, never really finding any real source of meaning or validation. It just so happened that the man upstairs blessed your son with an amazing talent for riding a surf board behind a boat and you have taken this opportunity to weasel your way into a place of perceived authority within wakesurfing. The people that have been around our sport for a while know the truth, you are not a shaper, you are a hobbyist that loves to talk about himself and takes every opportunity to pollute Wake World with this kind of nonsense.

My advice to you is that you get over yourself and stick to filing tax returns. Let James and Inland Surfer do what they do best, your lame attempts to self promote your brand are actually doing more harm than good. As more and more people realize who and what you are, you will ultimately be the demise of their success.

I hope Dave and staff here at World World come across this post and finally make the decision to delete the "surfdad" account and give this discussion board back to the users that come here to share a passion for wakesurfing.

If you have any questions or concerns you can reach me on my office line at Medical Express 512 851 3989 or email direct on my Medical Express email: clint@medexpsi.com

Sincerely,

Clint Smith

Clint you have finally shown yourself to those on here for what you really are. As Mike Armstrong stated above a Douchebag. Your business practices seem to follow your personal agenda. Posting pictures of a rider on the podium and Photoshop your Slayshtank logo over his sponsors shirt is about as low as it goes and you should be sued. You also Photoshopped a board into his hands that he choose to not take on to the podium with him. I know Jerry Price well and it must kill him to see his name associated with the like of you Clint Smith.
For you to say that Jeff cannot shape is a example of your ignorance. The FlyBoy Board shape came from the hands and experience of Jeff Walker. Your comment about his shaping ability is directly from the mind of a biased, ignorant idiot that knows not of what he is saying.
By the way Clint how well do you wakesurf? Post up some video for everyone to see.
I have attached a picture of your rider Chase riding a board 100 percent designed and shaped by Jeff. Pretty good air.

Jeff, you are our favorite wakesurf shaper. And as u know quite well, no one pays me to say that. My family has immense respect for all u have done, and your mastery. So what if your primary job is pushing pencils. Einstein was a patent clerk for goodness sake. Also, your example to Amy and I and how you put on local events was invaluable, I only hope we carryon in a way that makes you and Judy proud. Rock on.

U know, that whole post, so many digs and personal crap, but don't delete let it stand as a testament to Clint. I don't know why, but me and RJ caught the "skim" board comment as the most petty. Not sure why, but wow.

I am on the lake, in my iphone so sorry if choppy. Have you seen how fat my fingers are? Back to swimming with the kids, then some ghetto R&D, then some surfing.

Last, we have had such a wonderful time getting to know chase, stieg, wood, and the kinseys a bit via email. I hope this doesn't reflect on them, especially chase, whom I have had in my home. Good kids.

Intern? Arizona student? Really? What a bummer being the victim of such an amazing coincidence.

Well congrats Surfdad, you did two things. One you tracked down your Internet gremlin, and second you single handedly made a fool out of yourself and showed how you do and conduct busines. What a let down to. How long do you think this will be allowed by your new business partners? I SUPPORT INLAND, but I won't support cheesball tactics by those that have no class. Be the bigger man. We expect better than that.

I'm sure the intern learned something from all of this

Smith, well done

This thread is a prime example of why someone started the "wakesurfing forum gone to hell" thread. I share his same view as him, as many others do.

I remember before I heard of Flyboy I was all for Shred Stixx. We orderd a Custom Comp I at the end of our season around Nov-Dec I believe. After a long wait and much anticipation we recieved it after July 4th. I was the last person to ride it out of our group of about 4 or 5 riders ,but after they all told me it sucked and they would surf better using bricks I wanted to still give it a try. What they had told me proved right and we put it up on ebay about 3 days after we recieved it. We sold it back to a Shred Stixx Flo rider for about half of what we paid for it I believe his name was Duff Mahooney or something like that. So about a few weeks later I made the journey to Minneapolis to compete at the 2010 Worlds. While there I met up with the Walkers they were awesome the same night I hungout with Jeff Paige from inland he bought me my two sodas and chatted and joked around. I ended up taking 3rd place in the Am Mens Surf. The week after I was sent to the NW Open I didnt have a hotel so James let me room up with him. The walkers were awesome we went out to dinner, talked wakesurfing and all about life. Its like they adopted me haha. Soon after that contest I recieved my Flyboy from Towanza, the board definatly isnt the stand out for looks, but lets face it at the end of the day I could care less if it was pink it put every board ive rode to SHAME. I left to Nationals equppied with it and took 2nd in Mens Open Surf. Clint I really tried backing Stixx when all my buddys said it sucked even when my family members said it sucked I backed it but then I rode it a few more and gave up on it espcially once I got my Flyboy it brought back the "fire". You know like the first time it feels like you throw in the rope? Since then I have definatly progressed on it. It has became my favorite SURF style board. Im really shocked that you would say stuff like that towards anyone pushing our sport and helpingit grow, espicially a man that has been in it longer then you have probly. How could it be a SKIM style? The board Chase rides must be a Skim cause hes throwing Shuvs to Reverts on it. What about when Ricardo Wendhausen and Jordy Smith pull Kickflips ocean surfing they MUST be riding a Skateboard! If your throwing around Kook im guessing you know who those guys are right? I must agree with what Mike said "Douchebag!". I look forward to riding in Barrel Boss this week. I know this will probly bite me back come the final results but oh well gotta get up stand up dont give up your rights like bob marley says!

Smith,, for the record we have never crossed paths before, if we do could we be friends and get some surf sets in? I could care less what boat we use or what boards as long as it will float my fat arse and I can just have some fun.

This bothers me, and I mean no offense to Brian. I met Brian at the NWOpen and correspond at times, good kid, stoked about surfing. If he lived closer, I would love to see him and RJ ride more together.

So Jeff is the owner of Flyboy, I am the founder of Wake9, Dennis is a rep, and team trainer/coach for The Walker Project, and Mike is the owner/founder of calibrated wakesurfing. The word douchebag was thrown back at Clint and then picked up by Brian, a young up and coming surfer, with some serious stoke.

We are not being good examples, we need to fix that. I can't speak for Clint, I don't EVEN know where to start with that post. I don't disagree with Mike or Dennis, but we, as heads of these companies, throw back insults like that. We shouldn't. Call clint on the phone and say it, or to his email, sounds good to me. But Mike and Dennis, lets stay above it. I think I didn't say it this time, because I decided to hit the lake first and relax a bit.

Someone used some very harsh language to me a bit ago, and I called them a "tool" back on this forum. I apologize for that also.

I do not apologize for having an opinion that is contrary to someone else. I am not apologizing for spirited debate. This is an internet forum with varied opinions. If you don't like the heat, get out of the kitchen.

I pledge, even when someone makes derogatory personal comments about me or to me, that I will not return insult with insult. I will make my point, take a deep breath, and ignore the insult, or make light of it.

I think that I am not characterized by that behavior, but at least on one occasion, I did do it. I am accountable to my kids, and those that look to wake9.com as an honest source of information.

If you have been guilty of that, pledge here that you won't do it. And accept the accountability that I, or others that also make this pledge, may call you on the carpet for doing it.

Dennis, Mike? You with me? Others? Stubborn and opinionated is OK, personal attacks are not.

I am sorry for being a bad example, Brian.

I completely agree with Ragboy. This thread is a testament to the lack of leadership and accountability within our sport and its a shame that Wake World is used and abused for self promotion and self indulgence by a small group of users. My intention with replying to Jeff's post was not so much to defend myself or Shred Stixx but more so to expose the kind of leadership, or lack there of, that exists within out sport. If you click on the link below, you find the three people, in order, that had the most to say about this post:

http://www.towanza.com/awsa

Its clear we lack the kind of leadership that is necessary for the promotion and progression of our sport and I hope that Jeff and the AWSA Vice President find a way to put personal agendas aside and let this happen. I also think its time we return this site to the riders with nothing to gain but their passion for the sport and let guys like Jeff and Dennis control and manipulate their own agendas on their own websites.

I apologize to Brian and other young riders for my part in replying to Jeff's post, but I have simply had enough. Shred Stixx and our affiliates have made a conscious decision to avoid this site and these discussions for this very reason. Its a shame that Jeff has once again instigated this type of interaction on a site that was intended as a place for wakesurfing enthusiasts to connect and interact.

I not only accept accountability, but I pledge that I will no longer subject myself to this site and the personalities that have come to define it.

I too have no dog in this fight, but is this part of a good business model? Company presentation? Yes, I have said a few things in the past that were hurtful, but I stepped back and put the other persons shoes on so to speak and I could see that I was WRONG. I accepted that and made my apology to the parties involved and vowed not to ever do it again. So since, I have stayed away from this forum and posted very little. No offense to you Jeff or Robert or Clint, but if I was the main man at a company, I would think twice about the caliber of people that I have working for me. Are the representing the company in a good light that will not be bad mouthed? Because word of mouth will kill a company or product. This is actually putting Inland Surfer in a bad position, because you, Jeff, are now associated with them. You never hear Jeff Page come on here and bad mouth anything or anyone. Why, he has a lot to lose and he reps IS, just like you do now Jeff. If Robert did the same, Wake9, would lose business. Just saying that if you are a rep for a company or brand, don't through ***** around like a mud fight. Let it pass and go on. But if you stir the *****, it will continue to stink.

here is a newbie of the sport and a damn good consumer's point of view:

first off the scars must run deep among the old guard in this sport ...... it is a sport isnt it? it seems to me that people need to worry about their own ....... whatever happened to integrity and responsibility for ones actions ...... freedom of choice ....... its so easy to be negative in life that it becomes a form of dismissal ...... try actually making things work in a positive way even though it is harder its far more healthier and productive for all

for all the retailers that seem to be fighting over dollars over board sales ...... i have bought 4 new boards and 2 used boards this past year ( and ordered a board with a down payment that was never purchased )

first board bought was a hyperlite landlock becuase that was the board we were introduced into the sport with and you can find one everywhere

the next board bought was a used smed wombat that was purchased from wake9, the board was bought because we got to ride it first and the kids loved it as it was a huge upgrade from the landlock ( thank goodness for robert and his hospitality as soon as we asked for it or we never would have understood the difference between a performance board and only spent a couple weeks riding on the landlock ..... which we still use to this day to help some new riders out ) i ordered from robert a specail made walker cruiser board for myself at the same time with a deposit, when the board was not produced on time robert gave me an oppurtunity to back out of the sale which i did, that as a retailer is huge and responsible

the next board purchased was a shredd stixx thresher from jerry price and again the kids got to ride it first and loved it enough and jerry was nice enough to spend the day with us and was the first person to teach christopher about acheiving air on a wakesurf board

the next board purchased was a used inland surfer green room board that i was able to surf on

i then got to try a shredd stixx comp 1 model that was supersized and i loved that board, i could not purchase the one i got to use but could order and have one made but that idea didnt appeal to me and i decided i would wait untill the following year, but i would have bought that board right then and there if i could have

the next board purchased was my walker project bazooka, got to try alot of boards that day and the bazooka was the one for me, i bought it because it was there on hand and i liked it

this spring we were looking for a new upgraded board for christopher ...... he got to ride on the new flyboy before production, he got to ride a JWSS board for a couple days, he wanted to try a shredd stixx but jerry couldnt get 1 for him to demo without buying it first, chris only weighs 120lbs and he really needed a smaller board then everybody makes so he liked the flyboy and the fact that the board was so much lighter then all the other boards ( i sure wish he could have gotten a smaller flyboy model )

does this mean that every board we bought was the best one available? NO ...... it means that we were given the oppurtunity to try different models and choose the one that worked for us best ....... this didnt make the flyboy a better board then a shredd stixx or a walker project ..... i dont know how you even try and measure that ...... but it was a better buy for us because of what we were able to try and what we were not able to try and what chris felt comfortable with

the main theme here is that every board we bought we got to try first ...... every board we bought we could buy on the spot ( we did have to wait 5 days to get the flyboy ) ...... were we influenced at all in any of these purchases by board reviews in this forum? i dont believe so ...... we were very lucky in the sense that we met dennis horton, robert garcia and his family, jeff walker and his family, jerry price, and grant at cal marine sports ..... these people all gave us their time and their energy and made their boards accessible to us to ride first ...... yes we were very fortunate that we live where we do and all these people live here also

i feel very sorry for the people that have to buy a board without getting to try it first ....... especially if they try to use the opinions on this forum ...... all these custom boards are so much better then the wakeboard brands in my opinion ...... but you dont see the wakeboard brands cutting each others throat

so spend your time and your energy on getting your boards out there for more people to try and i am sure it will be far more successfull for you

my last opinion ...... when i purchase my next boat do people here on this forum think that you are going to influence me one way or the other on which boat and model i buy?

all the brand bashing and company bashing is really unfortunate ...... throw in the personal attacks and it becomes disgraceful ....... we should all be ashamed

I'm almost in the same boat as the above. You guys fighting like a bunch of school girls is really turning me off from buying any of the above. The market is too small for you all not to share the love and compete with integrity. Worry about growing the sport first and foremost with positive vibes so that ALL of you can have a retirement fund and surf your days away.

Its all pretty damn lame. Take a step back for a few minutes and reconsider the fact that LUCKILY of the small group of people on this earth wakesurfing who might possibly read this crap, only a slim few will ever read this. Spend some time figuring how to help us Virginians Wakesurf LEGALLY without being ticketed so that you have a market. That seems like a legitimate way to insure you have a retirement plan! LOL

Well, the thing is, for every guy like Frank, or chuch that post, there are probably at least 100 that lurk. That has been my experience from a guy that does this kind of web stuff for a living and studies analytics for years and such. This thread is going to have an impact.

IMHO, letting it fade away, is not the best thing. There should be a resolution. Or there will be more bad blood that will manifest itself for years.

Your frustration is (frank, chuch) understandable. I just spoke to Clint on the phone, he called me.

Let me clear up a couple of things first, because it has to do with the reason Clint called me. I am not vested in this, but I think some of you think I am. I don't make any money from this stuff, at all. I do sell flyboy boards on my site, but I am not a retailer. I did it to help Jeff, and help others get a hold of the boards, which I thought were great. I make 8% on each purchase, and 3% of that goes to paypal. Every order requires at least an hour or 2 of customer service, because the boards are backordered, and shipping issues, and what not. So that is like $40 total and at best $20/hour for the work, and I only did that to appease my wife, who does the leg work. So I could say I was paying for her time.

If you go and make an inquiry about Fresh Air Exhaust on my site, I forward those to Larry, and he takes it from there. I don't receive back a penny. I just want people to put those on their boats, so that people are safe.

I am embarrassed to say how much of my own pocket I spent on the Tige/wake9 festival. I didn't want to get big sponsors yet, because I didn't want to let anyone down if it didn't turn out well. Tige supplied the boats needed, of course, and many thanks to them.

Tige sponsors us now, since July, but that is it, and no money.

Jeff Walker, and Clint know this, others don't, but I offered to start supporting James Walker and Chase Hazen about a month or so ago. I am helping to support them, cuz I love those kids and I think they are great role models for the sport and amazing surfers. All of my kids look up to them. Chase has been away, so I haven't worked it out with him yet, but James has received support from me for a while, 2 monthly payments, and I haven't even given him a sticker to put on his board or posted on my site yet. James and Chase rode on my RZ2, before I offered to support them.

OK, all that to say, I don't make any money doing this, would love to see this resolved, and Clint has reached out to me. Clint and I and Jeff are going to see if we can work through this issue, as adults and report back to the community. And maybe we can setup some way to police ourselves in the community to help prevent further "blemishes" on the wakesurfing community. At least among the companies, whose products we love.

Good to hear you guys are trying to clear the air here. This has been very interesting to follow and I have been surprised at some of the comments made. This could have ended up getting nastier, which would benefit no one in the short or long run (I'm not trying to insinuate anyone in particular, as I have no qualms with anyone on this board).

This sport is small and fairly tight knit community and when some of the powerhouses of the sport are bickering back in forth in a public forum, that ALOT of people read, it puts all parties and companies involved in a bad spot, as well as casting a dark light on the sport itself. It would be nice if we would could figure a way to police ourselves as you mentioned Robert. It would be nice to see the board how it was a few years back. Nothing but positivity, new ideas, friendly advice and info, lots of great pics and everyone just generally stoked about the sport. Now the majority of threads end up with at least one two uncalled for posts (if they don't turn into a 2 or 3 page argument) and all they do is stir the pot. There's no reason to have any rifts in the wake surfing world. We all got into this sport for a reason; to surf and have fun!

Speaking of which, time to go ride

It seems the whole thing was all instigated up to this point. We are involved in a small up and coming sport where there is no room or need for bullies. Nobody is getting filthy rich off of the sport as of now or will in the near future. If all wakesurf parties could work together as a team instead of instigating misshaps like this one the sport of wakesurfing would be a lot better off. WE HAVE BIGGER FISH TO FRY! Lets work together guys..

Well, its been an interesting few days but I am happy to report that we can move past this issue. While the parties involved may not want to sit down at Thanksgiving dinner, , I think we have built a framework for a good working relationship moving forward. In response to the above craziness, I received this note from Clint Smith:

Responding the way I did on WakeWorld did not make the problem better, but worse, and I apologize for making those personal comments about surfdad in a public forum.
And I sent the above statement to Jeff, and he responded with this:

And from Dennis Horton:

That said, I think we should take Jeff's advice, and get back to wakesurfing. Lets move on. If you want to post a word of encouragement, cool, otherwise I think it would be best to move on.
