Looking to buy a new vest for the upcoming season. I have an old Vapor that I love so much but its falling to shreds and time to replace. Anyone have suggestions on a comp vest out there that fits like the old Vapor? Side entry or rear zipper, with the same form fit and decent flotation? Thanks.

+1 as I am in the exact same boat.

my vote goes to the o'neill TNT, its side entry, molded foam to reduce water absorbance and dry really fast, but segmented in squares to be really flexible. plus the glideskin lining on the inside sort of "sticks" to your body so the vest doesnt shift around or ride up on you in a big crash. cant go wrong.

the checkmate is what replaced the vapor, but i like the TNT's molded foam better, plus the glideskin is on the inside so it wont get all cracked after a long time in the sun (this happened to my old outlaw and friends checkmates).

I rode with the Vapor for 3+ seasons. I totally loved that vest. I switched to the TNT vest. Not as comfy in my opinion. Then I went with the Checkmate from O'neill. Same feel as the Vapor. Actually even moves better. The only difference is the Checkmate is a little thinner. Not an A-10 jetpilot thin. Still has enough float to keep your head above water. You will not be disappointed with that vest.
