David- you act as if his question is totally retarded! I also want to know why? Would you go on a wakeboard podium holding a snowboard?

Not a big deal to let the "why?" be implied? They get a silver trophy as well(see her other hand), but I'm not sure if one is for the tour and one is for the event?

why do wakeboards get given guitars?

same concept imo.

I think its AWESOME that they used a WAKEBOARD as a Trophy, especially because snowboards HATE on wakeboarders all the time. That is Brilliant!

How can you say that snowboarders hate on wakeboarders when most of US are snowboarders in the off season?

Jason,

I could go on and on and on about this, but Transworld and Snowboarder Magazine Routinely take pot shots at wakeboarding.

For the record I too am a winter snowboarder.

Here is my take on different objects handed out at comps, at the Dew event if they gave a snowboard there might be a conflict of interest on board sponsors. Same with wakeboarding, "here's a Ronix board Trophy " Handing it to a Byerly rider that is on the podium..

Did you see the February Snowboarder? Page 32? One of the drawbacks of winching into an urban rail is the "risk of looking like a wakeboarder"

But it's true, you'd be hard pressed to find a core snowboarder who doesn't wakeboard and vice versa
