I just got rid of a Rule I hated, lots of priming. Bought a straightline 1000gph works great. xtra caps and plugs are the same as for waterbeds. I've seen a Skylon 2000 gph but it was a little too pricey for me.

skylon 2000 gph is a rule pump in a skylon box. if you want a monster pump, get this one. 3800 gph. here is a link to buy it. You can get the waterbed connectors at a waterbed store. http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/productdetail.jsp?xi=xi&ItemId=1611772729

Andrew,

That's the best price I've seen for the Rule 3800. Is that pump submersible (can I toss it over the side into the lake and still do it the old school way)? Also, I imagine this pump doesn't have the wires that hook into a cigarette lighter. Does anybody know where to get the adapter?

I have this pump and there is no doubt its fast, priming it is a real pain though unless you are happy to through it over the side everytime. I have just finshed hard mountng it in my boat with a rule 500 GPH through hull pump in parallel to prime it. I use it fill and empty my sacks now and its great, fast especially with the priming pump left on as well... I put large flow fittings on the pump and sacks to get the max out of the pump otherwise the restrictions slow it down.

Oh and you need to be carefull how you wire it in as it pulls quite a current. I wouldn't put it through the lighter socket as they are not normally rated high enough. From memory they need to be on a 20 amp fused feed.

Just use Simer pumps. There not as fast, but they are self priming, and by swapping polarity you can fill and empty.
