i've used a square knot with a couple extra loop around and through (don't know actual name) to retie two pieces of amsteel together

i dont know what this knot is called. but the look that is on the end of a normal wakeboard rope. i tie that in it. and then i run the WHOLE thing through it. it takes forever, but i know its not going to come apart. i figure its better safe then sorry. and i didnt use a square know, because its pretty bulky, and i figured that it might catch going through the fairlead and mess something up
