Dave,

I met the guy who was behind the original concept, design, and building of the Liquid Ride. I believe his name is Scott Wareham. His family had been building runabout boats for a long time under the name Malibu in Canada http://www.malibuboats.ca/ . When I met him, a couple of years before the first Liquid Ride was made, he was working on conceptual drawings and looking for input and ideas. He was really trying to design and build something unique and copying someone else's design did not seem to be his goal. Kinda goes to show that there are only so many ways you can build a boat and similarities always seem to show up. I don't see the similarity to the Tige but to others it may be obvious.

Art, I finished it up. Here it is the new WC 28V. Chuck Norris is in the back locker, so no need for a ballast.

Nice Jeremy. And we don't have to worry about our friends stinking up the boat because it is on the transom "airing out"! JK, it's fairly common for companies to take a hull and deck and "splash it" or "borrow" it from an existing boat to save money on tooling costs. Once they make a plug off the original, then they have cut their work by 75% and they can just do some re-tooling and make changes to make it "theirs". I still think it looks like a modified Tige 24V.

Jeremy, I couldn't help but notice that you are 31 and a student. I applaud your effort and never give up attitude. Do not give up. I have heard from a lot of people that the third grade can be very difficult. If It doesn't work out for you, you should go into graphic design. You have some very good skills in that field. I believe I have an old book report on Treasure Island if you want to borrow it.

NO need for personal attacks Dan-no.

And keep the book report. I'm sure it's just a paper full of copy and pastes of other people's book reports.

Dave on a more serious note. You keep saying that people can get the same boat cheaper. I took all the options that come included in the Wakecraft package and priced them against one of the boats you have mentioned. It would have ended up costing me over $82,000 dollars, well over $90,000 for their 24ft model. Just curious how you come up with your figures.
Thanks,
Dan

Dan, you are really doing Wakecraft a lot of favors. If I was an owner or shareholder in Wakecraft and saw or heard about these threads I would tell you to shut the F up.

The only reason anybody is even giving you a hard time is because everything you do or say seems to be deceitful. From you very first thread asking why no one talks about Wakecraft to posting pics of the new 24 foot wakecraft. If you would of come out at said "here is what the new 24 foot wakecraft may look like. It is based off the Liquid Ride Mold" no one would of said a thing.

Here is to digging yourself a bigger hole and losing more credibility.

Have a good weekend

Leo - 55k for a Epic 23V? If price was a factor, and it normally is, then we have our winner.

Thread finished.

Have a nice day.

my boat is the perfect size, not too big, not too small just right. So you can huff and you can puff but you can't blow my boat down
Old    Dave (deltadave)      Join Date: Mar 2005       03-06-2009, 6:31 PM Reply
Dan because at least on the West Coast there are deals out there on new Sanger 237s for in the 40's and Tige 24Ve's in the low 50's. At 82k for a WC 24 you can buy a lot of boats, even 09s and keep lots of cash in your pocket. BTW, Dan, IMO as a representative of WC you should think before you post. Not that it matters at this point, because I see what other WW members think about you already.

Dave what I said was I priced one of the boats you refer to and when I was done adding on to their base price so that it had everything the Wakecraft had it would have cost me 82,439 to buy that boat as opposed to 65 for the wakecraft Zr6 with the 409. It was five thousand more just to go from the PCM 343 to the 409. I would only ask that you compare apples to apples. I could get a two wheel drive f150 for 16000, but to get one the way I want it, it is around 30000. I could sell you a base model 2009 zrwake entry level for 50000, if that is what you want, but you and I both know wakeboarders want a quick fill ballast system, ten speakers and a sub, swivel boardracks, heated driver and passenger seats, along with a three vent heater, a hot and cold shower, dual batteries, zero off, medallion gauges, a tandem trailer with 20" wheels, ect, ect. If you can get all of those for 65000 buy it, but please send me the invoice. I was just looking at the classified ads on here, you should take a look. I am not trying to be anything but informative, before I bought my boat I looked at evry boat out there, I would hope any buyer would do the same. IMO I got the most bang for my buck when I bought a wakecraft.

Dan, you're off your rocker. Next to no one in this market is going to pay anywhere near retail especially when there are killer deals on new boats out there. I just did a check of Boat Trader on-line, nation wide, and found a whole bunch of new 23-24' v-drives for under 60k and many under 50k. I see nothing on your list that really adds that much money and not everyone wants 20" wheels. If you really believe in WC and think you can sell a WC 24 for 82k or even 72k, go ahead and buy one, make the payments and see how long you sit on it. I doubt you'll be able to dump it for 55k in a year.

and click on: "Check out or 2007 & 2008 Malibu Boats and Used Inventory on Boat Trader"

The '07's and '08's are new. $49K for a new 07 Malibu 23 LSV and $56K for a 247 LSV. A couple grand more for the 08's. This is what boats are going for these days. And these are Malibu's!!!! Not knock offs.

Dan Dulong- I thought Katana bought (Canadian) Malibu, which also built Liquid Ride. If Katana sold the Mold assuming it is the Liquid Ride mold then Wakecraft will be up to par with the big boys. I have seen the wake behind a Liquid Ride and It is very impressive. Is the mold of Liquid ride or is it something else?

Dan, Have you ever thought that people may be personally ripping you and your posts because of your approach? For starters, the topic "What is the perfect size wakeboarding boat and why? is pretty ridiculous right? We all know that there could never be a general consensus to the question because everyone's needs are different. Second, your responses are so transparent and obviously biased. For example, someone says that the a bigger boat is better, you start talking about how great a 24 ft WC would be. If they said a smaller boat was better you'd be talking about some shorter WC model being the obvious best choice for everybody. As far as WC being a great boat, I don't doubt that it is a good boat. I don't have to get in it or behind it to form that opinion although if it is as good as you say it is, then it would be even more convincing. With your approach however, I'm unlikely to ever give WC a try. I think most people on here like or at least respect most of the brands out there. I personally like Malibu and choose to own one. However, if they had someone like you as a spokesman, I honestly think it would be a huge turnoff and would perhaps look elsewhere. I do not believe that you are doing WC or yourself any favors. I personally would not consider a WC strictly for the reason that there are no dealers in my area. The fact that you could get me a deal on it and even deliver it to me would mean nothing to me. A pooper on the boat also means nothing to me. The fact that I can order it with no graphics means nothing to me. If WC is as good as you say it is, then you shouldn't have to work so hard to sell it. This isn't meant to be personal and I hope you don't take it that way. I guess my point is that a softer approach would be more appreciated. Here's an idea. Start a thread called Wakecraft. For your original post, state, "My name is Dan and I'm a new promo rep/dealer (whatever is the case) for WC. I'm located in (insert city/state) and would love to take any and all for a demo ride sometime to show everybody why WC is a good boat. I currently have a new 24ft. model in stock that has some really innovative features that are unique to WC. Here's my contact information. Any questions or comments about WC are appreciated." Again, I don't mean to make this sound personal, but dang, you are hurting that which you are trying to help.

Dan, I was the very first person to call you out on wakeworld... and I think you might be referring to me too.

You won't find anything on me either. 30 years old, male, engaged, work in media sales (not porn though), currently living in Seattle (but moving again to Eastern WA), own a Supra now and a Toyota Epic before, have my OUPV Captain's license, and have never worked in the industry... spent 6 days at the boat show this past winter just because I am just that passionate about boating and wakeboarding.

And I hate d-bags like you.

Dan, it's funny for you to call the kettle black, because you were the one that changed his profile in the middle of his first thread on WW to conceal his identity. It wasn't until several of us called you out about being deceitful and hiding your identity, including Dave Williams, that you finally updated your profile to show your full name and that you're a WakeCraft dealer.
Old    Dan DuLong (wakeitnofakeit)      Join Date: Jan 2009       03-11-2009, 8:58 PM Reply
Wow cal your profile says that you are 29. Which is it? If you lie about your age what else do you lie about? Dave "the kettle" where is your profile? What you miss is intent. My intent when I first got on here was to see if anyone had even heard of wakecraft and if so what was thier impression of it. I was at that time deciding wether or not to bring them to the east coast. Even though I was listed as a dealer I had not signed the contract at that time. My intent was not to sell. Use this thread for example. I heard that the 24 model was going to be available, so i wanted to see what people thought. My lakehouse is on a small lake, like many in this area, so i wanted to see if people thought a 24ft boat was to big, or if the size made the wake that much bigger. When I was told to my a malibu, I quickly reiterated what was on my profile that I sold wakecrafts as well as own one. It was only after your request Dave that I posted pictures, because I honestly felt you wanted to know what was comming. There is no photo shop work in those pictures that I have done. Liquid ride is as plain as day, again no deception. I am amazed at the amount of pm I get. People are afraid to say anything on here because of what a few of you do to them. I love when I say one thing about having to bring my own cinder blocks for ballast on an 80' bayliner, I am the worst person in the world. I also love when I make a joke about a 31 student, I shouldn't attack personally, after this person has ridiculed me and my job countless times. This pot is not black it is clear as day. You have my Name, e-mail, adress, and phone number. If any of you want to know who I am, I invite you to the lake house anytime you want. You pay the airfare and I will pick you up take you there and all the food, drinks, and gas is on me. Stay for a day or month, up to you. When you leave and decide to buy a wakecraft I will take the airfare of of the cost.
Thanks
Dan

Old    Dave (deltadave)      Join Date: Mar 2005       03-11-2009, 9:56 PM Reply
Dan, I knew you would say that and I almost addressed that issue. Since you represent a product and "talk up" that product, you are held to a higher standard on WW. We don't need developed profiles because we're not pushing a product. It really doesn't matter "who" we are. I am not and I do not see the others guys representing Boat X and hiding that they are a salesman or dealer for them. On your first thread on WW you listed your full name. Then when it appeared to benefit you or you thought you might get heat, you changed your name. It appeared deceitful and I believe it was. You are either very naive or your intent was to "market" WC on WW through your threads. You only changed your profile to show your full name and that you are a WC dealer after about your third post on different threads and that was only after a few of us continued to badger you and explain that we thought you were being dishonest and you shouldn't conceal your identity. I think you only changed it because the heat got to be too much and you figured you were only digging yourself into a deeper hole by not being forthright.

Whether your "intent" was to sell or not I still think that you wanted to bring more attention to WC by your threads on WW. Ok, let's talk about this thread. I think you knew damned well that WC had a 24 coming out. Your marketing "strategy" was to make an "innocent" thread asking people what is the perfect size boat. It's not surprising that half way through the thread we "discover" that WC has a 24 coming out. To me all your threads look like naively assembled marketing strategies whether you admit it or not. I did ask you to post pics of the 24. I was curious what it would look like. I never said it was a rip off and actually said it could work. If you recall I said I like the look better than the Zr6. The other guys called you out on the fact that it was a Liquid and did the photo shop pics and made the comments about the head. I did say I did not think it was going to be price competitive and did argue with you over that issue. IMO you are hurting your brand and your credibility. But, I guess I told you that from the very beginning.

People are afraid to comment on these threads? That's ridiculous and hard to believe. This is just a forum and if someone gets ridiculed on here, so what? Is that going to ruin their day or they're going to jump off a bridge? Besides, I haven't really seen anyone jump all over a newbie or someone that has a legitimate point of view. I have seen them jump all over people that talk out their a$$ and try to hide their true intentions. I would like to see some of these "people" that you say you've heard from post here. I can just about bet money if they're not jacka$$es everyone here will support them. I have no problem with members that have an old i/o and they use sand bags for ballasts. I have seen families on the water in 1970's beaters and they are having the times of their lives. I think it's great that people can get on the water and enjoy it no matter what they're in because that's what it's all about.

Dan, sorry for not representing myself correctly, let me edit here to say I turned 30 last week and had not yet updated my profile. My sincerest apologies to all who were butt-hurt by that.

To add to Dave's comments, Dan, you said this:
"I heard that the 24 model was going to be available, so i wanted to see what people thought."

The fact that you did not state the first part in your original post is why you are a d-bag. That, and well... the fact that you are just a d-bag.

Also, you are the only person I have ever attacked personally on wakeworld, because you are an f'ing idiot and deserve it.

If hair splitting or dead horse tenderizing were a career path we'd have a lot of successful people on this board lol.

Dan,
just pay David Williams for one of those fancy flashing banners. Then you could say hey do you think a 24' boat with a pooper would be awesome? We would all click on that banner because we all think it would be awesome to drive through a double up with a full head sloshing around (Poo is ballast too)

If you want to advertise take everyone you know for a set, but on the web pay for it.
Seriously good luck though.

Like I said Dan, when we don't represent or push a product here on WW, we don't need full profiles. That's our choice. You, on the other hand, do represent a boat line and if you want to have credibility you need to show who you are in your profile. I still say that you are the one that has been deceitful and shady. You came onto WW under the guise of an innocent member just looking to see what people thought about WakeCraft. You were the one that was dishonest and changed his profile to hide the truth about yourself.

Actually, I don't think I have ever personally attacked you, I have said that I thought you were deceitful and the way you have dealt with your threads and posts is idiotic. I did say you have a cute son and thought your boat looked nice even though I'm not a WC fan. I was not one of the ones that hammered you about the 24 nor about it having a head. I have challenged you on several of your assertions and claims because some of the statements you make are either naive or ridiculous.

Dan, even if several of us worked for boat companies or dealers or were dealers (which we're not), we don't have to undermine you or WC because you're doing a fine job on your own. You should be careful who you slam back or what you say on here because you never know who you're talking to and if it will impact your future business, if it's a neighbor or a potential WC buyer.

Cal: stop it with the personal attacks or I will fly out there or you can fly out here and I will bash you with my keyboard!

Well put deltadave. I think the issue is dan's frustration that most people dont think of WC when they consider a new boat. But like we covered in another thread, their target audience (FROM MY PERSPECTIVE) is not the wake community. It is more of a crossover wake/speed boat crowd. I agree with nosebleed too that he should buy an advertisement space to be able to continue pushing his products like he does.

On a side note: I would be curious to see what everyone thought the optimal sized boat would be. Obviously everyone would want bigger but personally I think a 24' is too big for my needs/budget. The 21.5 seems cramped a couple times a year.

Scott me too! All I wanted to know is if people thought a 24ft boat would offer a better wake and if it would be too big for a small lake. I was curious to see what people thought about having a head in the boat. On my friend's 24ft sea ray we have done many double ups and never spilled a drop. You may never use it but it is nice to know it is there. On another note the lady that cuts my hair is a Legge. Do you have relatives in Atkinson, NH.

i just don't understand how the answer to the question is even relevant. Dan, recall that i called a truce in a pm that we exchanged so don't take this as another jab. I see this as just a meaningless question with any answer being just as useless. Again, all dependent on how you use the boat and what you use the boat for. "What is the perfect size wakeboarding boat and why?" Well, if wake and nothing but wake is what is important to you then perhaps the size of the boat would not be important at all. If you have a crew of 10 then size would be very important. Maybe i'm too critical, but of what value is the answer? Marketing research? I mean really, is a 24ft boat too big for a small lake? Well, define small lake. Would a 24ft boat offer a better wake? Maybe, but define a better wake? It would seem as useless as asking "what is the best wakeboard prop?" It all depends on the application and other variables

Steve you win the prize! There is no right answer, he just wanted to generate conversation about WakeCraft and WakeWorld is just part of his 2009 on-line marketing campaign. He innocently asks what is the perfect size boat and then, magically, it just so happens that WC has a 24' coming out. Surprise! Stay tuned, his next thread will be "Who has the coolest boat with an ugly Illusion copy tower?" or "Just curious, what's your favorite wakeboard boat with a wrap-over-the deck sunpad?"

Wow deltadave, to think I was done with this thread, but no you have to innocently take one more jab. I was aware that wakecraft may be able to have a 24ft boat ready for this year, they have had it on the books for the last two years. Send me your address and I will mail you an older brochure that proves it. Oh wait to keep your identity unknown to all you won't give that out. Should I just put the bat cave on the envelope. I started this thread to see what people thought about a 24ft as opposed to a 21ft boat. If you noticed I was weary of even posting any pictures, noticed the time it took, but It was for you my Old friend who asked, that I did it. It must be nice to live in your world of no accountability. If I was just your average joe, I would wonder who is this guy that is so critical? What boat does he own? Does he own a boat? Where does he work? Does he work for a boat company and gets paid every time he bashes another company? I remember when A-rod told katie Curic he never used steroids. I believed him. I hope Delta Dave you are not the A-rod of Wakeworld.

I wanted to type "Die thread Die," But I keep coming back and reading! This is one of the better one on one threads in a while. I can't figure out who to side with. Neither has backed down, and neither has stopped typing. I'm leaning towards Dave right now, but Dan is still in there...

normally people dont just toss around their address on the internet dan. what a stupid comment. you know why you started this thread and so do we. you are only looking even more ignorant the more you try to cover up the truth.
Old    Dave (deltadave)      Join Date: Mar 2005       03-14-2009, 5:10 PM Reply
Dan, I'm not in the industry so it doesn't matter "who" I am. When you represent a boat line like you do, you are accountable to other WW members. You want to "promote" or talk about WC as a dealer, then that's the price you pay. The 24? See, you knew all along WC had a 24 coming out. You started this thread (once again) like you're just asking for opinions when you really do have an agenda - to generate more press for WC. Yes, I did ask you for pics of your new 24 because I was curious and thought WC might have a new, innovative, exciting boat to offer. I was not one of the guys to hate on your boat or your photoshop work. I explained features I do not like on WC. I have been critical of you because you have been deceitful and shady from the get go. I have challenged you because of your "blind love" for WC, your naivety and your statements that border on idiocy. If you had started your very first thread with "I'm considering becoming a WC dealer and want your opinions". You probably would have gotten a different response from me and others. You seem like a decent and likeable guy Dan, but when you come onto WW professing the greatness of WC and you're a dealer, you're going to get grief. That just goes with the territory. You're the one that changed his profile during his first thread to conceal his identity. So I think that makes you the A-....... Rod of WW.

Sorry for the delay. My best friend's unit in Iraq was attacked and two were killed. It was his unit, so when it got to the press, it seemed that it was him that was one of the two. It wasn't him, but his wife, with a new baby was upset, so I went to Texas to see them. Everyone is fine now, I just hope everyone makes it home safely. I was thinking how much one missed quote can hurt. there was 18 hours that I thought I lost my best friend. 22 hours his wife thought she was a widow. I guess I only ask that the next time you see a typo or word spelled incorrectly, you think before being negative. Here it just a joke, or a business, but to someone it may be their life. Dave you say no one has jumped off a bridge. Are you sure? A girl that works for me was visiting a friend at college. They went out and he ran into is ex. The ex told him he was a nobody and she never loved him. That night he killed himself. My worker woke in the morning to find him in the tub. Words can hurt.
I guess Delta dave my point is there are words and there are words. If a girl at a bar tells me I am a loser I move on. If my wife or mother told me the same thing it would impact me greater. That is why identity is critical. You were right for me to disclose my identity. For the record. i was going to change my profile after the first thread for full disclosure, but decided not to. I did not fully restore my profile. It said Dan, not Dan Dulong, that must have fooled a lot of people. You keep saying you are not in the industry, well prove it. It is only fair.

p.s. Chris I spend a lot on advertising. I came on here to get peoples opinions and ideas.

WOW I jst read this whole thread beginning to end and I've come to several conclusions.
1.Toilets on wakeboats is idiocy.
2. Photoshop should be used by professionals only.
3.Wakecraft has a hideous graphic and an even worse tower.
4.I really don't like Dan(aka D-bag)
5.Apparently nobody else does either.

"p.s. Chris I spend a lot on advertising. I came on here to get peoples opinions and ideas."
Well looks like you just got mine. Hope you don't decide to get mean and personal towards me. Has anyone sent this thread to wakecraft yet to see what they think?

Looking forward to reading your next post or thread or whatever Danno.

Tyler I would never attack anyone who didn't attack me personnaly. Oh wait you did call me a d bag. You are welcomed to your opinion and I would like to thank you for reading the thread. You did however fail to answer the threads question. It is ok, you were probably with one of those full figured girls you so rave about in your quote. It is me that attacks people personally, correct? I do think you have a sweet ride. Enjoy your boating

It's obvious to me that Dan's only purpose is to see how long he can hang around and stir the pot. That makes him a TROLL. Please stop feeding him already.

If this thread gets much longer, it will surpass my VTX vs. TWB topic... at least that one was about boats.

What does your friends unit in Iraq being attacked have any relevance to selling boats? What the F- was that except a feeble attempt to curry sympathy for yourself?

If indeed that story is true, which I have some doubts, you Dan make me sick to use that information in this arena to make people feel bad for you.

Pathetic is what you are. I live in NH, buy my boats in NH, and would never ever do business with you.

See Dan, I don't have to hate on you or attack you because you do a great job getting members to do it all on your own.

Yep Dave. You have taught me a lot. I will now create a new profile and only mock my competitors. I have not decided on us air dave or southwestdave, eitherway it will be ambiguous and I will have no accountability. I wished the economy ran like that. Oh yeah it did. Sean I wouldn't sell you a boat and if you make light of my friend in Iraq again I will spend every dollar I have finding you. The point was to show how easily we mistake the truth and for the most part we turn it into a negative outcome. Do not feel bad for me sean feel bad for those that are serving our country. Feel bad for yourself that all you can contribute is negativity. Dave i find it funny the you segregate yourself from "members". How did you reach such an elite status?

Seriously...has anyone pointed this guy out to Wakecraft? Some may say that all publicity is good publicity, but I can't imagine that anyone who has read this thread or any of the others from DD would consider buying a Wakecraft in New England.
