A local dealer brought out their new 2008 230 for a demo session and pictures. The crew brought out an 2002 SANTE for chase boat pics. Thanks to Croft Marine Utah for taking the time and effort to make this happen. Pictures were taken with a Canon 40D with a 70-200mm f2.8 IS Lens.

E.J. ~~ I will have a write up on www.downfortheride.com My first set was behind the 230 and uploading the pics to my site right now. These are just some of the best pictures that worked out with the lighting.

How cold is the water? The dry suits threw me off, as the people in the boat have t-shirts on, and the weather looks awesome (at least compared to what I've got here in Michigan, lol)

Very nice pics.

Ian,

Yesterday the high was 70 F......so good t-shirt weather. That water is a different story. Would guess it was somewhere in the upper 50's...

Cold enough that my boat is put down for the season.

Nice pics. We rode in Seattle on Friday morning with water in the mid 50's and air was 37. Yesterday it was mid 40's to mid 50's air (long session!) and it felt like summer (in our dry suits).

Definately chilly water! The coldest I've riden in was 59 (air was 50) with a shorty wetsuit. talk about a good time to have a heater on the boat!

You know I need to give a lot of credit to Joe (www.wakeutah.com) for taking some really good pictures. Yes, I brought a pretty good setup up to use, but he was behind the camera all day! Who would think UT right now at 70 deg air temp!

Good times Josh! Just checked out the rest of the photos you posted at dftr.com. Are those all off your camera, or did you get the shots off Joe's camera too?

David ~~ This is all from my camera, have yet to see what turned out on Joe's camera! Also here's a quick pic to remind you to stretch before you ride!

DC ~~ You know the best water is on the "West Side" of the lake. Good to see other people riding while the temps are still good. Check out www.downfortheride.com for the full line of photo's that I have posted up. Sign up and let's get together before the end of the season!

David ~~ I feel ya, I'm all F'd up today with a few of the Nasty wrecks that I did.

Does anyone even buy full wetsuits anymore? It seems like drysuits are a bit overkill but then again I've never ridden in one. I've used my fullsuit with Air 50 and water 43 and was honestly just fine. I don't really see the need unless you're pushing riding into icy conditions but I guess that's just me.

Anywho, I was just curious. I'm probably just jealous cause that water looked sic and I'm really interested in how that 230 worked out.

Adam - You ARE just jealous! Dude, drysuits are greatness and not overkill at all. You can layer up with warm clothes under them and then you're dry when you get back in the boat. I think that is the best advantage. Sure, I think most would agree that a drysuit is warmer in the water but the real difference comes when you get back in the boat DRY! Try it out and you'll never go back to a wetsuit. Plus, drysuits are much easier to put on.

Adam ~~ I don't even use a wetsuit anymore. Once there is a chill in the water I go right to drysuit! As for the 230 is a really nice boat and can handle a lot of people. Again Titan came up with one heck of a strong tower. Check out the link above for a little write up I did on the boat.

P.S. We do take it into icy conditions!

Icy conditions I can see and maybe, just maybe, in Texas in Jan and Feb. Otherwise, wet suit all the way. Don't want to get wet?? Jeez Jaret you sissied up in your old age :-) I'm sure I'll go over to the darkside someday.

Josh, thanks for the review. I'd really love to see what people think of the wake under "real" riding conditions, aka lots of extra weight.

Stephan, I lived in College Station for 6 years and Flower Mound for a couple years. I now live in Spokane, WA and those water temps I mentioned were Lake Coeur d'Alene in late April 2007. A dry suit might definately be in my future.
