Thanks guys...Smed, no truer words have been spoken, the process is incredibly slow and labor intensive.

TXSurf, be sure to post up your build, it's always fun to follow along.

Thanks Johnny, isn't that thing cool? It makes a terrible mess and when a pass leaves a thin piece of foam going back over it makes a noise that sounds like some wild animal dying, but otherwise it's great fun! :-)

Now, cover it all back up! :-)

First set of flames recovered, second set uncovered and painted. I got a little sloppy with the pinstripes, so no doubt those will be a bit ugly in a few parts.

It still needs a few touchups and clear coats, but the basic design is there.

So have you gotten it on the water yet? How does it ride?

Thanks TX.

Thanks for the checking in Goodwin, not yet, I need to mask off for the drop shadows, I've been messing with two other projects of late. After the drop shadows, I need to spray it with clear and then it will be ready...the only issue with the clear is that it is a 2 pac - catalyzed, so once I mix I only have 24 hours to shoot all the clear. I'll need to schedule it for a weekend when I can empty the can and do 4 or 5 coats over the course of a few hours. No doubt, 2 weeks before it hits the water.

I'll be sure to post up and thanks for following along!

Various pictures:

Masking the areas that will receive the drop shadows.

Tracing the outline of the shawdows

Cutting them out on a HDPE cutting board (don't tell Judy! :-) )

Replacing the cutout tape and fill in the rest.

Paint!!!!!!

AeroMax Polyu clear - a true 2 pac in a can. The bottom of the can has one part of the mix, insert the plunger and it's active.
