very nice ltd bindings, they are starting to really look like regular boots.

amazing stuff...hopefully the shapes haven't changed too much.

nice. whats the deal with the 1 inch high air pockets on the boots? we need to be getting closer to the board..... not moving further away. i like lf, ride lf..... but they seem like those old osiris snowboard boots. usless asthetics.

those are some good looking boots

the Melissa's look like a close toe version of the Vantage. Anybody know if LF is making that this year?

Scott im sure they are based on the HUGE response they got from the Vantages this year! they almost had to make a closed toe version of it.

Adam, check out Ronix 09 boots. You are way closer to the board. There is no baseplate at all. You are litterally on top of the board with a cushion separation.

What happened to the neon clown shoes?

Just a thought...

The air pockets you see on those boots seem to be taking up the majoring of the room formerly occupied by the foot bed. The boots appear to have a smaller foot bed and rely on the pockets to replace them. It seems very similar to running shoe design, where the actual shoes haven't gotten any taller, the construction of the soles and cushioning of the shoes has changed instead.

I can't wait to put those bad boys on. I'm just not sure which one I like the most, Shane's, Watson's, or Soven's!!

those are only the limited edition boots/boards. the normal boots dont have that sole, the limited boots are the fly boots

i am sure that liquid force knows what they are doing. there is probably a reason for the air pockets i am sure it isnt purely cosmetic

This is always a great time when we finally get to see the new gear. They have a great looking lineup this year.

i see what you are saying.... they look good. but that airbag wont function like a high end trainer. the airbags within the sole are too "squared out" unlike a nike bag that has a slight bubble shape as to expand outward when pressure is applied.

thats just one thing that stands out....purely cosmetic in my mind. i havent seen them in person...i guess we will see.

For the longest time i have been un-impressed with LF footbeds, until 2008, especially the Vantage footbeds, they just seemed sooooo pillowy soft.

I am wondering if those massive air cells will make the footbeds even more cushy!? guess i'll have to wait till they come to stores for me to try one on and see. AND i'll have to wait even longer till they get 4 hole mounting options for me to actually consider a purchase.
----------------------------------------------

Ohh and speaking of the Vantage having closed toe or not. I remember Gator has some! and i remember them looking like the most impressive boots yet (on with the show... more expo pictures to surf).... and why not substitute the velcro straps with ratchets or some other thing that will not wear out, but still maintain the ease and quickness?

man those melissa boots look awesome....

lf bindings have been "pillowy soft" since 2005.

honestly, i don't know how anyone can ride those slingshot bindings w/ their footbeds (or lack thereof). i hope they changed 'em for '09.

I have to agree Joe that the SS foot beds are not the cooshiest beds out there, but the flex of the boards more than compensates IMO. PLUS, i have the addition of an old LF footbed in the bottom of my SS boots. i added it in to eliminate a bit of toe room in the toe box and i got extra coosh as a side benefit!

i have always thought (personally) that Hyperlite beds were a step above LF's for years.. that is until recently.

ive seen the whole LF range and they havent made closed toe vantages only the ltd melissas!

i can tell u that the sovens r super comfy and the best binding i have even ridden!

They do have a closed toe vantage. It's only in the limited version though.

Again, there is always Gator's version. IMO i like their (gator) looks better, but i'd have to try both on to give a final verdict of "cumfiness"

AGH! I want those limited Watsons... Crappp... Maybe if the boardshop on SML gets a bunch of extra in my size, the owner'll give me a big discount, considering the fact I semi-donated 11 hours of my free time to helping the shop's employees build a rail, along with 250 dollars of slider supplies for another rail for a rail jam they had... Plus their shop is now a sponsor for the VT wakeboard club...

I really like the new bindings with the exception of the multi-colored punk series

its good to finally see them stitch the base of the boot to the uppers. i've blown out sooo many pairs of watsons in the last 3 years. in into double digits for sure. can't wait to get these on my doggs..

You would think with the vantages and their variants they would have D-rings on both sides of the binding. That way they can replace the velcro without replacing the entire boot. (yes I have gone through/worn out the velcro already).

where can you see the regular LF 09 gear? is it up somewhere yet?
Old     (el_rey_de_zapatos)      Join Date: Mar 2007       09-16-2008, 6:50 PM Reply
I put my feet in the LTD Shanes and Watsons and must say they are the most form fitting comfortable boots I have ever put on. If felt like a great fitting pair of running shoes. The soles are not cosmetic. There is a lot of function to these. Wait until you put your feet in these. Shanes are super flexible and Watsons are a bit stiffer.

Torrey Australia has most of the 09 gear out now...

M-Dizzle LF has apparently fixed the velco this season so it doesnt wear out as fast

I wish this gear was out 10 years ago when i still got to ride everyday. Probably would have saved my knees and back! The orthodics (spelling) in all of these bindings are amazing, they can be form fitted and customized to help those (me!) with back troubles.
