I taught my nephew how to board at Lake McClure back in May. We spent two weeks in Trinity in August and he improved quite a bit. Then, this last weekend we went out to Don Pedro and things just clicked for him. Just had to share these He turned 6 the end of August-

YA!!! Thats awesome! so cool to see the little guys rip it up!!! My son is right there to, this last sunday he learned the jump the wake like that and to edge in and out hard, he has surfact 180 and switch riding down as well.. Keep him riding!
Is there any reason in particular to get him out of the mixed grip habbit? Wouldn't be hard to get him to loose it-only reason he does it is because that's how my sister and I both ride. If its purely style...whatever, but if there is something useful to not going with a mixed grip thats a different story-shoot, maybe I'll have to teach myself to loose it too!
Yeah, ^^^ I agree. Once it's a habit, it will be hard to break later. That grip will make things harder later on down the road. Great job on the little guy. It's awesome to see young kids having a good time and progressing.
