I made one of those too.

Works surprisingly well. My problem was it got heavy very fast. But I have a Canon XL-1 so it's a heavy camera to begin with.

yeah, i figured it would get heavy after a while, especially with the big battery on it!

i'm thinking of putting some soft "grips" on the pipes. if you notice too, i used plastic caps instead of the metal ones. since i live in a condo, i didn't want any metal shavings inside or below in my neighbor's patio.

nice, but having my $3k camera held in by a plastic cap might concern me. Do you think that's going to hold up?

i'm almost sure it will. it's not a plastic cap from a 2-liter bottle.

How well does that camera attachment work. It looks like the camera is screwed down onto the bolt and then the wing nut tightens it up so it doesn't move?
Looks cool. Did you make it out of metal or plastic pipes.
