Our transom (black gelcoat) has a ton of scuff marks and very small scratches from boards. Any reccomedations on what rubbing compound or product to use and what procedure is the easiest to go about removing them?
Thanks guys.

I have used 3M Super Duty Rubbing Compound followed by 3M Finesse Marine Polishing Compounding. Rubbing Compound leaves a dull finish if not followed by the polishing compound. A slow speed buffer with foam pads makes the job much easier. The hardest part on the transom of most boats is working around the lettering and platform hardware.

I also installed 3m bra... I make everyone including me put the board on sitting on the platform and board in the water.

Am I the only one anal enough to make people put the board on in the water to avoid scuff marks (unless it's really cold)?

I also installed a 3m clear bra at the end of last season. It's great.

This looks good but I haven't used it. I just clean and buff scratches out.
My boat's to enjoy so let them put the boards on where they want to. If I cared about the back getting scratched it would take away a lot of enjoyment from my boat.
I've got some pictures on the wall that I don't let anyone scratch. Although I don't drive them.
