I am thinking about buying a new 2007 Chevy Duramax with the Allison transmission. the one I am looking at is a 1LT 4x4 Crew cab (new body style). What is a good price on this? The MSRP is $46,700.

Carsdirect.com usually gives you a good starting price. I then negotiate on my own, use Edmunds.com, Costco and Sam's services and see who can give me the best price.

I just bought an LT2 with leather and a lot of options for around 42, so without knowing all of the options i would guess 40 would be a real good price. Couldn't be happier with the truck!

Call Dave Smith Motors in Kellogg, ID. Tell them what you want and they will give you a price. Even if you cant buy from them you will see a general target price to shoot for with your local dealer.

Mike, if you will send me your zip code and the exact make and model of the truck your looking for, I'll send you a link w/ all the vehicles in your surrounding area as well as the "true invoice price". It will basically show you what the dealer is paying GM before holdback and advertising fees are figured in.

Quite honestly... you should never have to pay more than invoice on a truck. Leave them their $1500-$3500 in holdback and advertising. They can't complain about that.

I just picked up my 900 series 2500HD LTZ tues. Sticker was 51,xxx (can't remember the exact price off the top of my head) I got it for 43,200 before rebates.

I have been pricing these out as well. With all of the rebates and everything you should be around $38k. One dealer here had a $45k sticker truck advertised for $36,999.

Something else to keep in mind is that dealers have cash "certificates" right now. They are basically coupons.

Most dealers will not give them to you and do not want you to know about them. B/C they just turn them into GM for cash at the end of the quarter or whenever the time period is for them. Some of the rural dealers use them to offer cheaper prices, in order to drum up business... and this is exactly what they're for. But like I said.... the bigger dealers don't use them this way. Hit your dealer up about throwing in some cash certificates.

I'm not sure were you are located, but they are giving 8-10k off the MSRP here in so cal.

If MSRP is around 51k then invoice should be around 47300 or so. Mike you are eligible for 3500 in consumer cash or incentivised financing for up to 72 months. There are certs available but many dealers don't have many so don't feel bad if you local dealer is out. Support the local guy...remember when he makes money he puts some of that back into the local economy and generally services a vehicle better than one bought out of town.
