no dont get an inboard outboard
u could find an 80's 2001 nautique for about tht price and throw a tower on it and ur redi to go

Yeah, my last boat was an '85 Malibu Skier. I got it for around 5K. I bet you could find an early 90's MC or Malibu direct drive for around 10K. Weighted properly, those boats through decent wakes.

or yeah even better like jay said a 90's mastercraft 205v with sme extra weight would throw a nice wake

whats the problem with I/O?

Despite what people say, there is nothing wrong with an I/O. My first boat was an I/O. It was a great boat for the price. Alot of fun times on that boat. It threw a decent wake. Now I have an inboard and it has a way better wake, holds speed better, is more powerful, can handle powerful stereo equipment etc. But, of course, the inboard cost a ton more and uses way more gas.
