Sunsport 24 SSV sunpad

I just picked up my Sunsport 24 SSV and I noticed that the driver side sunpad automatically lifts when I lift the engine cover. I was told this is normal but wanted to see if anyone else had noticed this. It seems to hold fine when the engine cover is down.

does not seem normal, but not sure....

If the boat is new it sounds like the foam and vinyl just needs to be "broken in". Everything is going to fit pretty tight at first but eventually will be okay.
