You mention that when you cut in you are losing rope tension, slack in the rope? Be sure to post (flatten) the board to allow it to slow down after your cut out. Also try not cutting out so far, many riders think you need a lot of speed to clear the wake, edging and rope tension are far more important. Remember to ease into the turn to the wake. If you turn too quickly, the boat will pull you off your edge. You could also take a more gradual cut out into the flats, just remember to flatten the board to let it slow down.
