Has anyone had any experience adding additional fat sacs to the factory ballast in a Nautique SV 211? I am trying to add two fat sacs to the port side that will sit under the walk through compartment right over the factory ballast and under the seat just in front of the walk through. I have input, output and vent for both the factory ballast and the new sacs. I have been told to fill through the factory vent but I think there must be a better way. Any advice is appreciated.

I've been working on my ballast bag install on a SAN with tanks. I added two sacks in the rear and one in the ski locker.

I've done it 3 ways now so I feel like this way is the best one yet. In the rear I installed 2 ball cock valves on each side and 2 additional vent holes each side, but I kept the original fill/drain pumps.

I'll post a picture later but connect everything in this order. From the tanks connect the Over flow 3/4 Vent tube to a tee, then a ball cock, then the bag. On the tee connect a ball cock, check valve to thru-hull. Vent the sack with a seperate hose and thru-hull elbow.

With this setup you can either run the stock tanks, or any sack you want.

For the ski locker I put in a tee after both pumps and run a hose up front with a ball cock in the locker. I vented it out the cooler drain hole.

if you could show me the diagram that would help. Are you saying come out of the factory ballast vent and into the fill on the sack so that once the factory ballast is full it will fill the sack. If this is correct then I assume I vent the sack to the existing vent but where do I hook up the drain for the sack??

I did the same thing - adding ballast bags on top of the rear SAN tanks, works great. See the following thread for pictures/diagrams:

Have a good summer.
