Seems like the extreme low drag of foils might allow surfing on much smaller waves. Also should allow surfing on rollers quite a distance away from tow boat. Foil surfing in Maui - they tow behind jetski for start- then are able to surf on tiny non breaking wave, before it turns into monster.
