This is my first time here. I am looking for information on a cable park, how much land is required. We have a large amount of water available on our land, surrounded on all sides by Forest Service, have water rights, all utilities, a 2000+ square foot home which could be converted to a lodge easily, pool, spring fed pond, outbuildings, and the land is a natural waterway. Excavation wouldn't be cost prohibitive, I hope, but does anyone know if you need 3-phase electrical? It's not available here. Also, does anyone have manufacturer names for the cable equipment, HP of motor/motors. I was told today by the county that due to our zoning here, that we could put in a resort. Originally thought of a water park, as the one in Redding is always packed, and we are 100 miles from Redding, but have the same HOT weather, but not as cold in the winter. If there are any interested surfers out there, we've got some land that we'd be willing to let be developed, under a reasonable lease agreement, for a percentage of the profits. We don't know what the ideal size is, but I'm thinking this may be too small. The county did say "with a resort designation, you can pretty much have anything a resort would have, like cabins, store, lake, lodge, RV park, etc. I neglected to ask about a water park as I wanted to read more. Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Trinity County depends heavily on it's tourism, so it might be feasible. I'm not a surfer, just did a lot of waterskiing at the lake, and think something like this would be great for our local economy, even if it wouldn't work here, due to size requirements. Particulars would be appreciated!

Having been born and raised right next door in Eureka, Humboldt County, I can tell you that the environmentalist would have this thing tied up in court for ever. Also Redding does not get as cold as Trinity county. It Snows all the time in Trinity county. But good luck, I would love to see something like that in Nor Cal

We had snow 2 days last winter, being at 1200 altitude. We went to Redding for a few days during New Years and was snowed in, in Redding. Redding is colder than Humboldt, and we are on the very tip of Trinity. Also, Weaverville is higher, and much colder so I guess it would depend on what part of Trinity County. We are just over the Humboldt County Line, and have Willow Creek weather. We don't have enough acreage but it would be wonderful to have SOMETHING here, as the Humboldt State students hit the river as soon as the weather warms up. My husband said the same thing about the environmentalists. Well, maybe a water park would work. It would probably need 3 phase too.

I don't know how many riders per day you would need to turn a profit, but you would need enough tourists to visit your area who were wakeboarders. I wouldn't think you would have enough local support to pay the bills since Eureka is 3- 4 hours from any major town and about 6 hours from Sac.

Maybe they could pull snowboarders in the winter.
