I haven't been up there in a little while, before winter it was VERY low and we really didn't have the greatest of winters. I think it's up but if you know how they operate it will be very low by June, those bastards.

Currently, at 46% of capacity compared to 65% same time last year. Not going to be a good summer at Naci.

what does it mean "Capacity (AF)"

Example my home lake "tulloch" says 67,000 what does that mean? Thanks

Acre Feet = The volume of water necessary to cover an acre with 1 foot of water.

It's standard measure for a body of water. For a boater's purposes, it's not as helpful as Surface Acres since depth isn't as important as area.

Grant,
yes thats acre feet. actually it is an important measure because if you know the curent AF and the capacity of the lake (AF) it tells you the level of the water e.g. 50% full. Once a lake drops that low, you need to start worrying about objects below. surface acres gives you an idea of how big the lake is so yes, that is also important if you have never been to that lake.

Hi, I'm here at Naci and the water level is fine. The county people say that we will have our launch ramp available till after Sept.01,2004, remember this lake is a resevoir, they use this water every year for crops in the Salinas Valley. This resevoir will only be dry if CA has a drought! So, whats the worry, at 50% we still are 17 miles of great water!
