I need recommendations for a single axle trailer. The tires need to be rated at 5000+ pounds and I am having trouble finding them in either of these sizes 265/75R17 E121R or P285/75R17.

Not to hijack, but I'm wondering what a good brand of trailer tire is that won't break the bank. I have a dual axle and need new tires as they're old and mismatched. Fine for local towing but need new before making some trips with the boat this summer.

Matt, you sure that's what size you need? You'll be looking at mostly light truck tires in that size, but you're talking almost 33" tall. I would look into a nice set of 16" wheels and some trailer tires, but that's just me. I worry about car tires on trailers.

Therer are no tires in a 18 inch or below that are rated at 5K pounds - best you'll do is 1915 pounds in a 255x45x18.
