My wife is a little over 3 months along. and in the last 2 weeks, I've gained about 5 lbs of what looks to be pure fat!

That's just not cool! I haven't made any significant changes to my diet or routine...

It appears that it may be a real thing. I can't recall this happening during her pregnancy w/my other children. but that could be that I'm a lot more conscious of my health/fitness these days.

- according to wiki
"Studies have shown that the male partner cohabitating with a pregnant female will experience hormonal shifts in his prolactin, cortisol, estradiol, and testosterone levels,[7] typically starting at the end of the first trimester and continuing through several weeks post-partum".

elevated cortisol will make you gain weight and lose muscle (and therefore strength).

Anyone else experience this?

My wife and I both lost weight during her pregnancy (well she gained towards the end) because she was trying to eat better and exercise to be healthy for the baby.

0-5% gains/ losses in body weight are normal to me. It's probably more in your head than anything, lol.

think about it this way...5lbs of fat is roughly 17,500 calories......based on what you stated in ur post....I doubt you ate an additional 17,500 calories in two weeks
