Looking to buy some sac's and hoping to get some opinions.

Any imput will be appreciated...

What qualities should I be looking for in buying weight 4 my boat?

Do you like fly high or launch pad Why? Why Not?

I hate water filled ballast sacs. The bags tear, the zippers break, the liners leak, and the liners seldom line up with the bags. Avoid any ballast that is 2 part, liner and cover. The only one I am familiar with that I like, and felt good enough about to sell, is the Pro X series. The bag is heavy duty with taped seams requiring no protective bag. The fittings are heavy duty and one inch diameter, as opposed to 3/4 inch diameter water bed fittings.

I have all sorts of sacs from all different companies, and the new Pro X Series from Barefoot International are tough as hell. The only thing i don't like about it is the "quick connect" system. It can be really hard to use sometimes. Look for sacs that fit where you want to put them, what kind of storage do you have in your boat? If its a V-Drive you have a lot of options with some of the new sacs.

I agree with Kevin. The quick release fittings can be tight; the o-ring needs to be lubricated. We found that suntan lotion works well.

Ill have to try that sun tan lotion trick, thanks for the tip Larry. Sometimes we can't even get the fitting off and just unscrew the cap and stick the tsunami pump hose straight into the sac! That gives me something to look forward to next season!
