I am looking at getting a 2003 direct drive supra lanch ss . What would the wake be like on this boat is it comparable to a v-drive or does the wake suck. let me know if this boat would be ok for wakeboarding or is it more of a ski boat.

The 22ss is the same hull as
The old 22SSV. The v drive wake was killer so with a little extra
Rear weight the wake should be nice.

if u weight it right the wake will be great.

I have a friend who has one and it's a great ski wake but he has no problem with adding rear weight for boarding. He also surfs behind it. Nice boat.

Im not sure about the ss hull but the ls hull is like my old 2000 supra launch dd and it has a bad ass wake! :-)

so i assume the wake will be nice if you figure out the weighting for it..

You can definitely weight it right and have a great wake. Like Jon said it is the same wake as the Pre 07 22SSV except just with a direct drive. Throw a couple 450Lb sacks on either side of the engine or even bigger and another one by your back seat. Fill the stock ballast and you will be pretty good...

That hull produced one of the biggest cleanest wakes I have ever ridden. Plus for me it had a great shape.

I have a 2000 DD Launch I run 1000 in bow and around 700 in stern. Wake is huge and clean, good for surfing and wakeboarding I love it. Gas is not that great though about 4.25 an hour with the 325 assault. I will try to dig up some pics.

Actually Luke, that's pretty respectable fuel consumption. I'm right around 4.5 - 5 gph with a 330 Black Scorpion.
I've heard of some wakeboats burning as much as 7 - 8 gph ...ouch!

chris i cant remember the eact prop repitch but they took my 13x13 OJ and cut it down to a 13x11.5 i think..its a DD so it plains out easier then a Vdrive since the motors not set all the way back,it think :-)

i used to regularly ride behing my folks 2002 launch sl direct drive and i still love that wake. if you have a few people you can get away with stock ballast plus a 450 in the back and a 450 in the walk thru and make a great clean wake. to really get it huge you can add 2 more sacks, one on each side of the engine box. wake has an awesome shape and is adjustable if you have the wake plate.

What is a good four blade prop for these boats?

Luke, the best 4 blade for this boat is a 3 blade.
