My Wife and I just got a new MacBook Pro and I was wondering if I should upgrade Quicktime to Quicktime Pro, is there anything QT pro has that can't be done with iMovie and iDVD? It's only $30.00 to upgrade it, but I don't want to waste hard drive space and cash for something thats not worth it.

I think it offers some advanced export and audio conversion features which you probably don't need at this point. I would hold off and wait until you find something you actually need it for. Plus it comes free with most of the Apple Pro apps so if you do get into more advanced editing you might end up with it anyway.

I've bought the Pro a couple of times for the conversion capability. Then they upgrade QT and if you auto upgrade you lose the older pro version. Nasty but that's about all I've had Mac problems with.
You probably don't need it. If you do it only takes five minutes to do the upgrade online so don't sweat it until you find a specific use.
