Hopefully this will keep Epic in the game for a long time (and to hopefully allow them to R&D the regular 23V more and add some spray pockets, and possibly dual wake tabs )

Love the boats, bummer you couldn't get any pics of people riding though!

Electric motors with one moving part have 99% efficiency, combustion engines with several moving parts around 35%.
I would like to know how proposed wake surfing for 3 hours on 1 charge works in reality? If you got full power all that time and if its really 3 hours or less, how long you have to charge etc.

from my understanding their is a gas engine generator on board that keeps you going after the three hours of just battery power. It takes one hour to recharge with the generator and can also recharge with 110v or 220v outlet at the dock. http://23e.epicboats.com/

Production models are scheduled to be available in 2010, updates and details can be found at http://23e.epicboats.com/ Below is some basic info.

Over 50% reduced total carbon dioxide emissions.

Virtually no risk of CO poisoning with our hybrid drive system.

The Epic 23e burns 50% less fuel than a typical wakeboard boat on a 4 hour wakeboard outing.

You can wakeboard for 1 hour on batteries without ever burning a drop of fuel.

It can be fully re-charged by the generator in about an hour.

The 23e can be re-charged from a typical 110v wall outlet or a 220v wall outlet once home or at the dock.

Just get a really long extension cord and surf all day!

I talked to the Epic dealer in Boise, ID and he said the E-machine was $150k. Maybe Obama will give us a tax credit for buying this boat?
