I have a 06 v-ride. Took it to my dealer for some warranty issues. I have read on here that malibu has a reflash for the computer for the cruise control at slow wakesurf speeds. Does anyone know if this applies to the V-ride. My dealer says they do not know of any program. Also on another forum I see some people are having problems with thier vinyl discoloring and they felt it was a problem with the glue. My sundeck is discoloring but only on the dark grey color. Not the white. My dealer says it is transferred from the boat cover. I feel if that is the case then the white would do it to. Any suggestions?. My boat was built back east.

You would use Diacom Marine to reflash. It's something they should have. I'm not too sure about the discoloring. I would contact the mfr of the cover.

Everyone keeps saying it's the glue they used on the 06' boats, but wouldn't that be the issue on all the 06' boats then?

Nu bu, good point, but it only happened on the dark color on my boat. The darker color is a different vinyl, more coarse, so maybe the dark color soaks up heat and the coarse vinyl is porus. Not sure but I would think that if the cover was causing it, then the white vinyl would do it to. I even have put a blanket in between the cover and sun deck and it still discolors.

I have the darker grey on my boat to but nothing has happened to it. I keep my boat inside a garage year round, maybe that makes a difference I don't know. I don't think it's your cover either, I'm very curious about this issue and hope someone figures it out. Maybe they fixed the problem on the boats manufactured in late 06'??

We have an '05 V-Ride, and have not had this issue. We store ours outside and have not had an issue with the cover, but then our cover is that generic off-white color. Maybe if you have a colored cover, the color would bleed through after a rain, and then the sun sets it in?? But then, why wouldn't it stain everything? Hmmm.

By the by, what is a "reflash"? We've set PP as low as 7ish mph, and have had no problems.

Reflash is reprogramming a controller such as the power train computer in this case. My boat has the Malibu cruise control. I can only set it to around 12 mph then have to back it off to 9 mph.

What do you clean the vinyl with? Most have some UV protection and maybe you stripped it off. The dark colors are always more effected by UV rays.

I use 303 cleaner and protectants. If you leave it in the sun, it will bleach it out some. But then it always comes back.

Off topic but I would not use 303. Every time I had a demo with a customer and they used 303, I could tell.

Scooter

I also have an 06 vride. I had my dealer reflash my computer to correct the cruise control issue last year. He wasn't aware of it either at first but checked in to it. I had heard about the fix over on themalibucrew.com site. The reflash fixed my cruise problem. Before the fix, I could only get my cruise to hold around 11 or so. Now it seems to lock in at any speed down to 9 and lower with no issues.
I have not had an issue yet with my vinyl discoloring. I have some gray vinyl as well.
Good luck
