For those of you that saw it on the home page what do you think?? For those of you that havn't seen it in the current events, I suggest you go back and look at it. I think it looks a lot like the x-star but i like it personally, What does everyone else like/dislike.

The tower is the same from the side, and the bow is a replica.

I like it... but haven't I seen virtually that exact same boat before??

I think it's a head turner for sure. The biggest difference (I'm guessing) between the tige and MC is probably the convex hull shape. It looks like it is very pronounced on this tige and if it's as heavy as tige's 22V or 22Ve and has ballast standard, the wake should be a solid performer. I'm very interested to see more details and pricing on this boat.

Light years ahead of the old Tige's. I personally would never have considered owning a Tige in the past but this boat looks sick. I can't wait to see one up close.

i like it a lot. te couldhave shown more thought in the tower design but regardless, i like it more than the x-star.

IMO it looks just like a black Xstar, tower, bow, sun deck, and all.

MC hit a homer with this design. However, if the Tige handles like a Tige, they will have done a better job.

This is why you usually pay more for a MC, they put a ton of R&D into their products and let the others follow. Great looking boat!

So is the pickle fork officially in style now? That's two new boats besides the xstar with that bow design.

Is it RZ2 or ZR2? In the article it says RZ2 but the picture thumbnails say ZR2.

Its RZ2.

I have to jump on this bandwagon, I actually like this Tige. This is why I said competition is good for us consumer's..

I don't know what you're talking about. Those captions look fine! :-) It's an RZ2, not a ZR2. Sorry about that. And it does come standard with Taps2 and the Convex V hull. There is no standard ballast, but the option for under-floor ballast is available.

It's definitely got some similarities to the X-Star as well some other boats, but I think it is really a good looking boat. I like all the angles in the fiberglass. There are a lot of edges and clean lines. I also think the seats are interesting the way they are so flat. Obviously, I don't know how comfy they are, but they are very different looking.

I'm not sure about the look of the tower, but I do like the thick tubing. I think it's almost three inches thick. I think it will look cool with a bimini and some speakers or lights.

Sweet boat!

Nothing original here with the Tige' boat. From the tower to the pickle fork...it is just a MasterCraft dupe. If you are going to work on a "new" boat 110%, why not be original instead of spending hundreds of hours copying to something a little different. No, my heart remains with the OG - X-Star
Old     (oaf)      Join Date: Jul 2002       07-12-2006, 7:18 AM Reply
The main difference will be in ride and ride quality. MC will make the boat look nice to start, but it will ride like crap. The Tige is based upon ride quallity then have decided to trick the boat out. With added ballast with floor tanks with the Tige it will be a hands down winner over the MC for a sticker price that will be better (just a guess). Plus isn't the RZ2 a 22' boat and the X-2 a 20' boat?
Old     (lcky275)      Join Date: Jul 2002       07-12-2006, 7:20 AM Reply
Wow, I didn't realize MC invented the picklefork.
Old     (garret_s)      Join Date: Apr 2006       07-12-2006, 7:27 AM Reply
Lucky, my thoughts exactly. It does bear similarities, but I think people need to reserve judgement until this thing actually hits the market, and they get to ride. I am willing to bet that it rides completely differently.

Oh, by the way, tige has been using that same tower design since...05 i believe.

Great looking boat! The interior room looks great for a boat that doesn't look huge. It is nice to see some totally new graphics, instead of more of the same. Looking at where the black and grey colors are, it will be cool to see the different colors and looks that can be created. I can't wait to see one up close and on the water.

Yes, it gets a lot of styling ques from the x-star, which copied Cobalt. What is the saying, "imitation is the sincerest form of flatery". Every boat takes some ideas from others. It is improving on those ideas that gives us choices and better products. It's exciting to see things move forward.

The boat looks great!

Not a fan of the dash and why you don't put a ladder on the front is beyond me. I thought that was half the reason for having a pickle fork front.
Old     (freshtracks)      Join Date: Feb 2006       07-12-2006, 7:57 AM Reply
IMO--Weak. The dash looks generic compared to Malibu,C.C., AND M.C. The bow area is too small to stretch out in. Tige still hasnt figured out speakers on the floor sound like crap, and will get a lot wetter where they are at. I don't like the sharp angles on the transom, looks like something out of Star Wars.Coming from a previous and and satisfied Tige owner I'm not impressed, too bad, I kept hearing how Tige was going to come out with something all new, doesnt look like it.

Garrett,

I'm not sure I've seen that tower before. I couldn't find anything like it on Tige.com.

I think that if you see that in person, it is not going to look as much like an X-star. Seeing that tower in 3 dimensions (look at the top pic), it will look different than MC's.

The boat looks sick. I am impressed, although it does look like the x-star, still has some tige signatures. I like the simple looking dash, very european design. I can't wait to find out what msrp will be. I hope the ballast system can hold some substantial weight.

Just spoke to my dealer, and msrp is going to be very close to the 22ve.

talltige, I thought it looked similar to the 05' tower. Maybe I just didnt look closely...it still has the single swoop and the doglegged supports, right?

I dunno.
Old     (luchog)      Join Date: Jun 2002       07-12-2006, 1:33 PM Reply
please check rudder & prop position on the two boats, location of this and shaft angle will surely have a dramatic effect in ride and performance.
The Tige does also have a narrower transom while the X-star is a pig on the back.

Make your conclusions

Lucky, you looking to unload a white tige for this new one?????

Possibly so, I'll have to see it in person 1st. I love mine and just got the stereo dialed in and the ballast kinks worked out. I also installed a 2 bank charger, and was about to look into mounting some fans in the gunwales to dry everything out. These rainy spells keep the carpet damp.

If you get serious, let me know. Kelsh has someone that might buy mine. Might swap all around. See what the numbers need to be.....

why? it's not like mc invented pickle fork design. mc borrowed the pickle fork design from other (older) boats.

Joes right look at a X Star on the trailer and you can see how they took a old bow rider and planted stuff on it like the transom box and side panels .This new Tige is refreshing the wind shield looks like M/C as does the tower its just a little different than a M/C . The dash is one area they could have done a little more with but all in all its a good job.

I would just like to say that, in my opinion, the pictures shown on here really don't do the boat justice. There is a lot more going on that you really can't see until you see it in person. ESPECIALLY the sides of the boat and the transom. There is a lot going on that is VERY different from the X-star. I think that many of you who think it's a MC dupe that actually LOOK at the boat will change your tune once you see the real deal in person....Don't just write it off as an X-star copy because some dudes on the internet said it was after they saw a couple pictures. The boat is SICK.
