Hopefully I don't disgust all of the people that have been in my boat in bare feet, but this was the carpet in my boat after all of you trampled through my boat, and after we took a couple hundred gallons of Delta water over the nose! . That's just nasty! It's only been 6 months since I last did this.

Oh yeah...I'm sure some of that is beer too.

That looks really nice. Note to self...Leave slippers on while on J-Rods boat.

That looks like the water in that canal in front of Salinas Valley Marine where that slider Brian Grubb was hitting.

May be a little dog piss in there, too. That's why I don't wash the carpet in my boat. It's been 3 years and still going strong. Just take the boat to a lake once or twice a year and dunk the nose really good. Rinses it right out.

j-rod - what did you use to get that out of the carpet? is that thing similar to a shop vac?

Looks like from the pics that it's one of the ones that you rent from the grocery store...

Grocery/hardware store style is right. I have used them before on residental carpet and they actually work great. Only like $20 to rent for 24 hours

I also rented them for my house - they do work great. I was considering renting one for my boat but didn't know how well it would work - that question is answered!!

Yeah. The Rug Docter. $25.00 with the hand-held thing. You need that to hit all the hard to reach areas.

Reminds me of elsinore water too... Does anyone have experience at both the delta and elsinore? Which would you say is worse?

Not sure about Home Depot. Our local U-Haul rental place has them, and also Safeway.

Once a year I spray down my carpet on a warm day with the pressure washer and a little carpet soap. I just work the washer from back to front spraying the dirty water into the bilge. Later, I hose out the bilge.
