The thing about randall is not his techinal tricks but his big stylish grabs how he does what trick he likes and perfectes but baiscally his style is awesome

Dude Hahn in that pick he is about 12 feet up and is already out past the spray of the boat in the flats. I would pay good money to just ride in the tube and watch from that view.

yeah. that was awesome, clearing 2 boat wakes at 90 feet.

People please remember, I'm on the outside of the wake in a big ass tube and he's still at the peak of his jump. Randall is one of the hardest riders to shoot still images of. That's why he's almost flying out of the frame!

C'mon, Scott, post up the NBT method off the dub...one of the best exhibitions of wakeboarding skill I've ever seen...from 2001.

Danny is right, I believe he used to call it a Remix and it was grabbed all the way through. Randall is the man, whether you like his spins, his tech grabs or that fact that some his burliest tricks are switch. Wakeboarders understand. Even other board sports appreciate how Randall rides a wakeboard, I'm not saying that's needed to be legit but it says something about the man.

I'm somewhat fearful for my life that I'm about to say this but why (in the method pic right above) does it look like there's 3 ropes? And if you look at the other Randall thread right now about midway down is a still of the same trick and there is no multiple rope view, and he doesn't look as high. Granted in the pic in the other thread it is still absolutely HUGE, the one posted above looks to be even bigger. Are these two different stills?

Keep in mind I know nothing about photoshop just thought it was weird there's phantom ropes in this one and not the other and he also looks to be a few feet higher in this one.

Disclaimer: Im a big fan of Randy, and yes he goes bigger than anyone.

Gotta love Natural Born Thrillaz....

The other thing about NBT is that the section in the DVD is a re-edit with new footage (including that one footed 3 at the end of his section). In the bonus section of the DVD, he's got like three additional sections, including the original edit that was on the VHS (and still stands as my favorite). Who else could pull that off? For those sections alone, that dvd is well worth the price...I love NBT.

So true. I've had this discussion with a couple of people and it's very unfortunate. Filmmakers have the power to guide where wakeboarding is going, just look at Randall's section in NBT. It's still revered today. With internet videos and the like it's almost a case of quantity sufficing over quality in some cases.

That said, it's also great that people can have access to so much wakeboarding media, and web videos from sites like alliance are awesome. But it does take some shine away from DVD's which is sad.

It's kind of like asking what's so apecial about Parks or Murray or Byerly. Randall is a pioneer in our sport!
