It's time to up the wake on the '99 Sunsetter VLX. With lots of kids and mostly beginner/intermediate riders, the stock wake (no ballast, no wedge, no nothing) has sufficed. But this summer is the time to experiment.

So a few newbie questions:

1) I currently have dual batteries placed in the rear side compartment (both on one side). Where should I move those to accomodate a fat sac?

2) I'm thinking a total of about 1,000 lbs to start. 300 on each side of the engine in the back and 300-400 in the floor ski locker. Any recommendations on specific sacs for these areas?

3) Any recommendation on pumps? 1000GPH

Any other thoughts would be great as this is completely foreign territory for me. Thanks.

I have a 98 Sunsetter VLX. Last year we put about 2100 lbs in her and the wake was great...This year I've ordered the Integrated bow sac, getting custom sacs made for the rear, and use a twin airmattress in the locker. So hopefully we will beat the 2100 this year. We use the rule 1100 pumps.

This has been covered many times on www.themalibucrew.com You should post this same question and someone will find you a link to the previous threads.

For a nice big wake you will want a 500lb sack in each of the rear lockers, a 500 in the ski locker, and maybe around 300 in the bow. If you run the wedge then you will definitly want more weight up in the bow.
