Got the go ahead to release this info on the new Cable Park in the DFW area.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me, thanks
Jeff

Hey Jeff... It is probably okay to give out more information about the new cable lake in the DFW area... especially since digging began in earnest this morning at 8:00 a.m.

Approximately 3% of the lake was dug in a single day... not bad considering we were moving mostly rock....

The cable design will be either 5 or 6 towers, with the two longest runs being 590 ft each...

The approvals have been obtained...

Financing is in place...

Two water wells are in place and operational - to keep the lake filled during the hot, dry periods...

The cable design is being finalized and should be locked down by this Friday...

The location is at the site of the worlds' first Sports Car Country Club, www.motorsportranch.com, which is 14 miles southwest of Fort Worth. This pioneering concept was implemented 10 years ago and is now being copied in various locations around the country.

This site already hosts a premier sports car club venue. Amenities already include a convenience store and restaurant. Next month will see the opening of a large, sit down, steak and BBQ restaurant.

The lake itself should be dug by Christmas... Then a while to fill it...

Cable lake facility will be open in the early Spring.

Need a catchy name for this place... anybody have any ideas?

More information will follow....

It's good to see these continuing to to pop up all across the country. They should name it Dallas Ft. Wakes, or something equally cheesy. Bring that funding & planning to CA!!

Yes we will have a pro shop on site.
We will have the Cable Park as well as the 2 race tracks that are already on site.
No plans for a boat lake at this time.

Thanks Eubanks, cant wait for you to come by and check it out.

If it's going to be open by spring, I might have to extend my summer vacation to hit this. My brother and I were planning on heading down to hit TSR, then we'd hit the new DFW park if it's ready, then hit COW-C and finish up at our hometown KCW. It would be one great week!

Nacho thank you, but MotorSport Ranch needs to be thanked and be told great job, because without Motorsport Ranch, there would be no Cable Park. I am thankful to be apart of this project, but without MSR, there would be no project.

So Thank You MotorSport Ranch!!

How exciting! Another cable park to include in the I-35 cable tour (my own tour, not a real one)! Is it going to be a Sesitec or Rixen cable?

Louise we will release the Designer/Builder soon.
Old     (pvsawyer)      Join Date: Mar 2008       11-19-2008, 4:25 PM Reply
How about "The Motor Tower"? Or "Motor Tower Park" Since there's a motor theme there. Or "RPM Cable Park". Or something like that that can hint at the dual nature of your park.
Old     (toddjones320)      Join Date: Jan 2008       11-19-2008, 5:10 PM Reply
i advise you to use Pat Panakos for he is the master of building sliders. there definately needs to be some kind of a big box 20' wide, 30 ' long, 4 - 5' tall and then two handrails down on each side, kinda like the pool at wake lab but with out water so you can nollie back lip the handrails

one of the setbacks to wakeboarding is that you cant nollie into any rails, Simon Chamberlains nollie back lip 270 out on a snowboard is life changing

yes my screename is flowerpuff.... isnt aol gay anyway?
Old     (wakerider900)      Join Date: Nov 2005       11-19-2008, 6:07 PM Reply
Yea, for sure Pat is an amazing guy who is not trying to make a $$ he is creating perfection. Look at CWC, if you don't get Pats help your already starting behind (look at the cable in OKC, there lost) Sliders sell tickets.

YEA Jeff! Stoked on the park! Thanks for doin what you do over at INNOV8! Some of the more simple names sounded good, but Shred Town USA??? NO Todd!

Super pumped to see a park going into DFW area! My wifes family is from there so I am there a few times a year. Even more stoked to see that Pat is involved b/c of what he and the guys who did the wake park project in the philippines, and that place is dialed. From the shop to the boat lake, cable park all the way up to the winch park, those guys made the best park in the world, in my humble opinion. Can't wait to see what they put together in Texas. See y'all there. That's what they say in Texas...Y'all.

WSR is too much like TSR..

Drop the ranch.. North Texas needs it's own identity..

Maybe "Wake Sport Park or Complex"

Ya! Let's see the place. I'd love to see construction pictures all the way to completion. Great to hear about the park being built.
I've gotten word that the one that was to be built here in Winnipeg is taking a bit more time than predicted. I'm guessing that that is pretty normal though.
Good luck with the park!

Cant wait, I go to TCU so expect me out there all the time. If you decide on WSR you could do a cool mirror image with MSR and WSR... just a thought

No question that it's going to be succesful. Props innov8!

We have some good ideas for rails, but would like to hear all of your opinions as well.
Lets hear some.

Yeah, I did thought about changing the "ranch" to something else but since it is going to be at MotorSport Ranch, I might as well just keep the ranch and swap out Motor to Wake.
Old     (pvsawyer)      Join Date: Mar 2008       11-28-2008, 12:01 PM Reply
I suggest all types of obstacles: a fun box, kickers, some sort of transfer, a wall ride, and rails. I'd like to see a variety of rails- roof top, A-frame, and kink rails are always fun. I personally don't like rails that are ridiculously long or short. Medium length is the best...that's my 2 cents...

Old     (toxis)      Join Date: Jul 2008       11-29-2008, 8:10 AM Reply
Just don't forget about the newbies! As a new rider this past year, I started a lot on the small obstacles to get comfortable on a board. You want a funbox that's advanced enough for sick tricks but easy enough for newbs to have fun on. A small flat box and small kicker also help people progress into being better riders and try new tricks. Can't always think of the big dogs! Gotta start somewhere... but you can't have a park designed for the beginner either. Need to tailor to all skill levels.

I really like Austin's idea about the mirror image of WSR and MSR you could make some really sick graphic designs with that combo. I'm digging the WSR name the most..
Old     (polkadottie)      Join Date: Dec 2008       12-06-2008, 3:18 PM Reply
i think i smaller kicker with a long transition that you can really rail into and get some distance would be fun. Ive never cared for the ones at tsr. I think it would be awesome to make one that mimicked a wake and you could rail into it to throw raleys without ending up 20 feet up and having to deal with a hard landing. more hangtime and less height

You're right I was just messin with ya, i don't know what the logic is behind it. As a goofy I'm not complaining though.

Just be glad you don't live in Cali where there are 0 cable parks.

Just looked at your profile.. Be glad you live in Tampa close to the one of the cables that is left foot forward!

Jon, actually, CCW is much better for regular riders than for goofy riders. Think about it, when learning regular tricks and switch tricks, wouldnt you rather have the help of the cable on your weaker direction? Think of all those poor goofy riders who have to learn switch rolls with no cable assist at all!

But when you already know EVERY TRICK you just wanna ride regular :P
