My neighbor purchased a 2 piece pylon for his fish/ski and is deciding not to use the cable that connects to the front of the boat. Is this a safe thing to do? What kind of force is put on the cable and could you get away without using it. What kind of damages could it do to your pylon or boat and would skylon warratee the pylon if it broke and the owner was not using the cable? Any suggestions on what to tell him and any information would be a help. (this is going to be printed out and show to him )

Peace,
2p

Umm, can you say rip the stock pylon right out of the boat?

The cable is very important. By adding an extended pylon, you are GREATLY increasing the stress on the stock pylon over what it's designed for, if you don't use the cable.

Very dumb move, and no, if he rips out the pylon it won't be warranted since he over-stressed it.

Do you like your neighbor? If yes, then no it's not safe. If no, please post pictures of the aftermath so we can all see.

Question is will they warranty the bodies of his friends and family when, not if, that thing rips out!
