Riding both sides

My wife and I learned to surf last week. We both loved it. But she rides goofy and I ride regular. It would be great if we both rode the same side.

I tried the "honey, you are gonna have to learn to ride regular since most people ride regular". It didn't fly. So I tried to ride goofy. It didn't feel as good as the regular side, but keep in mind we just learned last week.

How many people have learned to ride switch so they can ride any side anytime? It would be great to ride both sides, so then I could jump in the rotation on both sides.

Thoughts?

Ride regular backside, it's much easier than switch frontside.

I'm getting a little bored of the "most people ride regular" thing.

I'm thinking this argument only works on really slow people.

Hey, you regular footers, learn to ride backside.
Or admit that you're just to lazy to switch the weight over.

My chick rides regular and I ride goofy, and we just ride both sides.

Just riding a frontside wave is like only jumping the wake heelside when you're wakeboarding.

Lazy nothing it takes time.

My regular wake is better but a lot of my crew are goofy. As soon as I find a way to get a good goofy wake and quickly switch between regular and goofy I'll ride more on the goofy wake.

We're talking about someday having a four point contest. Who can ride all four corners the best? I'm sure a goofy rider will win.

I'd guess it takes about 10 minutes at the most to switch the weight over. Just about enough time to have a beer.

We save time by just draining the full sacs into the empty ones on the other side.

Show has a regular rotation Enzo - he'd have to unload all of his port side ballast and probably DOUBLE the amount of that weight on the darkside to even come cloe to the port side wake. It's laborious for him, at best. Knowing Ed though, he'll monkey with the hull and fins to get a better wake on the darkside before the end of summer :-)

For most other boats, it's like what you say Falco - we empty the port side bag into the darkside bag, Judy fishes and the rest of us eat and tell tall tales. :-)

Probably around 10-15 minutes.

Well, I for one am "regular footed" with everything else, but since my boat only throws a good wave on the starboard side, I have learned to ride goofy footed. I'm so used to it now that I definately think I'm better surfing goofy than regular....although I'm not positive because I've only tried riding regular a couple of times, but there's hardly any wave to ride, so I just go back to goofy. Does that answer your question? ha

I work hard to make a good goofy wake but I haven't figured out a good recipe for the new boat.

Yes Jeff, I'm working on a widget. I have the parts but not much time. Maybe I’ll have a test run next Wednesday.

I'm vacuum bagging a little balsa on the WO Charity prototype. Running out of RR. I need to order more. I have some supper surfactant from a polymer chemist at work. We'll see if they do any better than Add-F

I want to give SurfSource Gloss epoxy a try...Max Mercy out of Texas and posting on Sway's got the most incredible gloss coat using it.

wakecraft boats..scope um out..they actally advertise a wave that can be riden on both sides at the same time..the pics on their site surfing both sides is without any ballast.i think a lil weight in that hotrod could make it stand up tall.boat is sick..im test driving one this weekend
